Time to re think Islamic terrorism - It’s a war stupid

Time to re think Islamic terrorism - It’s a war stupid
 Islamic terrorism - It’s a war stupid
The Boston terror bombing brings home the fact we are in a state of war, even though our government leaders don’t want to acknowledge it.

The attitude by the present administration is eerily similar to what the Clinton administration had, that lead up to the 9/11/2001 terror attacks.  Criminalizing terror is in fact ignoring the active war being waged against our country and western society.  As if we don’t name it, then it doesn’t really exist.

During the Clinton administration, our world trade center was attacked with a truck bomb and our embassies in Africa were bombed killing hundreds.

The reaction by the Clinton administration was to classify them as criminal acts, to be dealt with as if they are common lawbreakers.

Later, in a frank moment, Clinton admitted he screwed up when he had a chance to kill Osama Bin Laden and didn’t take it, because: He had “no controlling legal authority to do so.”

This is lawyer talk, not a commander in chief who is responsible for the safety of American citizens….

The terror war against our country is by radical Islamic terrorists,

The Obama administration still refers to the slaughter of American soldiers at Ft. Hood Texas by Major Hassan, as workplace violence, even though he had ties to radical Islam and he was uttering Allah Akhbar as he squeezed the trigger killing our unarmed soldiers.

The underwear bomber who tried to blow up a passenger airplane over Detroit was whisked away and given Miranda, although he wasn’t an American citizen.

This administration downplayed the attack on our embassy in Benghazi that killed 4 of our personnel including our Ambassador.  They initially tried to put the blame on an unruly mob enraged by a cheesy internet video. When in fact it was a well organized attack by an Al Qaeda connected group.

But the Boston bombings have brought this war squarely in our face, on our soil again. From preliminary reports, Russian intelligence warned us one of the bombers was tied to radical Islamic organizations.  Why didn’t the administration pursue this? Were they afraid to offend someone?

But Islamic radicals want to kill us in the name of their religion…Why? Because we are Americans.  Boston was an act of war, not a criminal act.

Shortly after the bombings, a gunfight erupted outside of a nuclear power plant in Tennessee.  The assailants escaped on a boat and the FBI is investigating. See Fox story

In this same time frame, a terrorist plot was foiled in Canada when authorities arrested two radicals with ties to Al Qaeda in Iran.  They were planning to blow up a passenger train bound for New York.

How long will it be before Al Qaeda and other radical Islamic groups are equipped with far more lethal means of attacking us? Iran is close to nuclear weapons capability and is closely tied to Syria with vast supplies of chemical and biologic weapons.

These are not criminals who are trying to destroy us and our way of life, they are soldiers in a war against us.

Boston terror bombing shows glaring need to secure our borders

No matter who or what is behind the terror bombing in Boston, it should put the spotlight on how terribly porous our borders are.

The politicians in Washington tell us there are only 11 million “undocumented” aliens in our country.  But many estimates run  3 times higher than that number.

So what is the real truth?  Lets suppose it is somewhere in the middle and put the figure at 20 million.

That’s 20 million people who entered our country, most without permission and we do not know who they are, or where they are. That’s a recipe for disaster when it comes to terror potential.

This administration keeps patting itself on the back and saying our borders are more secure now than ever. But the truth is, the job they are doing is totally unacceptable.

We already know there are drug and smuggling corridors openly used between Mexico and our border states.  It is relatively easy to cross the border in many areas and that puts our national security at risk. See Congressman Chaffetz report

The many people flooding our borders illegally, are from countries throughout the world. But alarmingly, we see a growing influence in Latin America, of Iran, narco states and jihadism, this potentially can be a huge problem. See article

Out of the 20 million illegals,  even if 99% of them are here to work and have a better life for themselves and their families, that leaves 1%, or 200,000 who might have malevolent intent towards us....But we really don't know do we, we are navigating in the blind.

America should be paying attention to the borders first and foremost before anything else is discussed on immigration.  What this administration is saying about secure borders is false and that is verified by ICE officers who are suing the administration because they claim they will be fired if they enforce immigration law. See story.  ICE agents are not happy with orders given them regarding border security and immigration policy. See ICE agents.

Many people get into the country legally, yet overstay their visas and become illegal. In most cases we do not know where these folks are or what they are doing.  The responsibility for visas should be turned over to the private sector. A credit card company who already has infrastructure and expertise in place, could do a far better job than what is now being done by the government.

There is no country in the world that can survive as a going concern that does not have control of its borders. A country without borders is not a country.

Sean Hannity says Yasir Arafat is the father of modern terror, but Arafat learned from Ireland’s Michael Collins.

President Obama's trip to the Middle East saw him making speeches and conferring with Israeli, as well as Palestinian leaders.

While Obama was in Ramallah with Palestinian President Abbas, they held a joint press conference.  Unfortunately for President Obama, the optics didn’t look good as he addressed the assembled journalists under a Yasir Arafat banner.

Arafat probably one of the worlds most renowned terrorists before Osama Bin laden came on the scene, is responsible for thousands of deaths to innocent civilians. For a President of the United States to be caught under a poster of this man, is an extremely bad gaffe. The photos will be used as propaganda by many groups around the world to recruit terrorists.

According to the group known as the “Committee for Accuracy in Mideast Reporting in America,” Arafat is the father of modern day terrorism.  Perhaps that is why Sean Hannity echoed that opinion today on his radio show, as he railed against the President getting caught under the Arafat poster. See list of Arafats terror strikes here.

But modern day terror tactics were not an invention of Yasir Arafat, they were in fact invented by Ireland's military leader and brilliant tactician, Michael Collins. Many consider him to be the father of modern day terror tactics as well as the father of the Irish Republic.

In 1916 Collins invented those tactics as he sat in a Welsh prison…put their by the British. Those tactics as employed by his Irish Republican Army, forced the British to the bargaining table after centuries of effort by Ireland’s citizens failed to do it.

According to terrorism expert James Biesterfield in a very informative article published in IrishCentral, September, 2011:

From a purely analytic viewpoint, Michael Collins was absolutely critical in the advancement of modern terrorist & insurgency organizations. In following the timeline through the 20th Century terrorist groups, it appears that virtually ALL groups have and are following, the IRA Model.

The PLO and Yasser Arafat used and improved upon this model in the 1960’s/ 70’s. This led to a vast number of terrorist fighters from all over the world attending training at PLO camps located in Libya during this period. Following this, we began to see cooperative efforts on the part of terrorist groups (i.e. Lod Airport, Rome Airport, Mogadishu, etc).

For good or bad, credit should be given where due.  One mans freedom fighter can be another mans terrorist.

Heads roll as the religion of “turn the other cheek,” meets the religion of “peace”

Burning church
The latest casualty in the war against Christianity, is a Tanzanian pastor who lost his head to an outraged Muslim mob.  The incensed mob was demanding all non-halal butcher shops and especially pork butchery, be forbidden

A spokesman said a group of youths believed to be Muslim, assaulted several Christians, including a butcher shop owner, using sticks and machetes.  During the confrontation Pastor Mathayo Kachili, of the local Assembly of God Church, was beheaded.

Besides the Pastors beheading, several other people were injured critically during the incident and taken to the local hospital in Buseresere for treatment. See this and other stories excerpted from link: Tanzanian News

Christians in a small village in southern Egypt are rebuilding their lives and homes after hundreds of Muslims rampaged through their community firebombing houses and businesses, over rumors of a romantic relationship between a Christian and a Muslim.

In Nigeria, Boko Haram, a group seeking to impose Islamic law on the country, picked out Christians in a small village, gathered them in a group before massacring them. 15 people died in the attack; many had had their throats slit.

These are not isolated incidents as Muslim extremists attack other religions wherever the two meet, but Christianity seems to be singled out.

Pastor Mathayo Kachili
According to a report named Christiana-phobia, by the think tank Civitas: The “lion’s share” of persecution faced by Christians arises in countries where Islam is the dominant faith. Between half and two-thirds of Christians in the Middle East have left the region or have been killed in the past century.

“There is now a serious risk that Christianity will disappear from its biblical heartlands,” it claims.

Violent oppression of Christians has become the norm in Muslim-majority nations, especially in Africa and the Middle East. In some countries it is government sanctioned violence that burns down churches and imprison parishioners.

In others countries, groups and vigilantes take matters into their hands by murdering Christians and driving them out of regions they have called home for centuries.

One Christian pastor in an affected country described the situation this way: “On the Christian side, strong emphasis is placed on the teaching of Christian love, patience, mercy and forbearance. But in such a situation one wonders what the future of Christianity and of the nation as a whole can be.”

“Muslims believe that if they die in the course of a Holy War (or Jihad) they will go directly to heaven. We are dealing with a religious philosophy where war is a must! The whole weight of the challenge is now on our shoulders. Who can tell how successfully we will respond?”

It seems, the Christian philosophy of turning the other cheek, is on the road to running out of cheeks to turn, in Muslim dominated countries. It seems when it comes to tolerating other religions, the religion of “peace” isn’t so peaceful.

Iran gains power in Latin America as Obama administration looks on; a brave leader speaks

Bolivia's Evo Morales w/Irans Ahmadinejad
While attention has been focused on the murder of our ambassador to Libya and violent anti American demonstrations against our embassies overseas.....Those same anti American tentacles have been quietly grabbing hold in our own back yard.

With little notice in the main stream media, Iran has been cementing it’s relationships with regimes in Venezuela & Bolivia, both countries under the control of strongmen friendly to communism.  Iran is a main funder of terrorism throughout the world, For them to gain a foothold in Latin America, does not bode well for peace in our hemisphere.

Recently I spoke with Bolivian elected representative Senator Carmen Gonzales.  She has had the courage to stand up and speak out about the repression besetting her country and it’s ever closer alliances with Iran.  She has been the object of continual harassment by the government for her vocal opposition; including being buried in lawsuits (18) designed to silence her.

Tell us about Iran's influence in Bolivia?
The influence of the Iranian theocracy in Bolivia is very wide and deep.  Iran has inked many agreements with Bolivia, both known and unknown to the Bolivian people.  I have demanded to know the extent of these agreements, but as of yet there has been no response from the leadership.   Iran is interested in our mining industry, gas and uranium.  Iran is interested in expanding its influence in Latin America, to provoke the United States. It is very advantageous to Iran to have the friendship of the Bolivian regime, with all of its natural resources, including uranium and being strategically placed in the center of the continent.

Sen. Gonzalez
But most people of Bolivia repudiate the Iranian regime: They abuse human rights, they do not respect their women and are dangerous to world peace and stability.
Recently Canada withdrew its embassy in Tehran in a clear sign that the civilized world will not tolerate the authoritarian practices of undemocratic and abusive Iran.

I am also worried as a Bolivian ,what may happen to the Jewish community here.
Recently, the Iranian defense minister was with our ruler, Evo Morales. That same minister is under orders for international prosecution, accused by an Argentine federal judge to be part of the deaths of hundreds of Jewish-Argentine AMIA (Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina in 1994).

So, it is very dangerous for the Jewish community the fact that Bolivia has relations with Iran.

How do you see Iran’s influence shaping up in Latin America?
Our ruler Evo Morales hates everything that has to do with democracy, modernity and definitely hates the United States and what it represents. He and his regime have been dubbed the Taliban of the Andes and he himself is referred to as the Fidel Castro of the Andes. In 2008 he expelled the U.S. ambassador, Mr Philippe Golberg, in a clear sign that the Bolivian regime hates the U.S.

Since Bolivian leadership has signed agreements with Iran as well as Venezuela, there is clear worry that these countries can serve as bases for terrorist activities against neighboring countries and become a springboard for jihadism.  With Iran racing toward nuclear weapons capability, there is no doubt in many circles, that technology can filter to enemies of the US. The exporting of nuclear weapons technology to Latin America would cause huge political disruption to this region.

What can be done about this:
In Bolivia we do not like communism and citizens realized the mistake they made by giving the vote to Evo Morales in the last elections. Morales's agenda is the same agenda as Che Guevara: Establish a dictatorship the same style as Cuba. Che Guevara tried that here and we killed him for it.  Morales came to power cheating the people of Bolivia, lying that he would “change the system.”

I hope the Morales regime does not change the Constitution. In 2014 we are going to vote against him, and fire him from the Presidency. But only if he doesn’t change the constitution, like his ally Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela. Legally speaking, he cannot run for the Presidency again.  We hope the people of the US see what is happening here and lend us their support.

The US is coming face to face with a decision about what to do with Iran’s race towards nuclear capability. A nuclear capable Iran not only means a threat to our allies in the mideast, it most surely means a threat to our friends and allies in Latin America.

Romney the statesman calls Mideast policy a disaster, as Obama the politician does fundraisers.

Just hours after the brutal murder of our Ambassador  in Benghazzi Libya and the assault on our embassy in Cairo,  Mitt Romney spoke for America when he expressed the outrage at the murderous acts. He said America should not apologize to anyone when an American gets murdered.

"I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi," Romney said in a statement late Tuesday night, "It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."

Romney had remarked on the politically correct statement that emanated from the Cairo Egypt embassy which is the official spokesman of the Obama Administration:

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions," the statement read. "Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."

Where was President Obama as rescuers frantically searched for our Ambassador in the smoking wreck of our Benghazzi embassy?  Standing by on alert as commander in chief, ready to make crucial decisions? No, he was sleeping comfortably in bed, he had a big day of campaigning and fund raising ahead of him. President Obama did not a miss a planned campaign stop or fund raiser as our Mideast embassies came under siege.

The Obama administrations milquetoast, politically correct response to violence against Americans is to apologize to those committing the violence.  They blame this anti American violence on a juvenile grade U tube video made by a few people in the US that put the Islamic religion in a bad light.

The United States is still a free country and can practice freedom of speech, there’s nothing to apologize about.

You don’t see American streets filled with murderous mobs when a far left government sponsored “artist” puts a crucifix in a jar of urine and call it art.  You never saw any American cities burn when another “artist” took a painting of Jesus Mother Mary and spread elephant dung on it…No the left celebrated those daring artworks and put them in museums.

But the rioting and violence afflicting many parts of the Mideast is just using this corny video as a pretext for violence,  it is a smokescreen for the anger and resentment towards Western civilization and a way to further subvert American prestige in the area.

President Obama made his apology tour to the Islamic countries, promising a new way and respect for Muslim countries…..He was not their enemy.   He seemed to think his mea culpa for Americas past transgressions, real or imagined, and just his presence was a magic solution.  He seemed to think if he kicked our ally, Israel, to the back of the bus he would gain friendship in the Muslim world.

The naivete of this attitude is now being reflected as Iran races towards nuclear capability and America is faced with increasing scorn and violence, where the Obama policy wonks predicted there would be love, adoration and peace.....now that Bush was out of the way.

As events unfold in this dangerous part of the world, it is plain the Obama administration is in way over its head.  Hillary, looks exhausted and at her wits end as she expresses surprise at the violence. Mitt Romney has been a vociferous supporter of our ally Israel as the weak foreign policy of the Obama administration endangers Israels existence.

There should have been no surprise from Obama or Hillary Clinton at this turn of events.  It has been reported there was intelligence given to the White house 48 hours in advance, attacks were coming....It was the anniversary of 911 after all.

But what is plain to see in this part of the world that after almost 4 years of hope and change to our foreign policy: Our friends no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us.

Israel’s Danny Danon says Irelands Freedom Flotilla was funded by terrorists

The “Freedom Flotillas” that got such widespread coverage in the media the last couple of years as they tried to penetrate an Israeli blockade of Gaza, was linked to terror organizations, according to Israeli leader Danny Danon. Several people were killed during violent confrontations between Israeli forces and Flotilla participants. Flotilla Ships were boarded, commandeered and searched before their contents were allowed passage on to Gaza.

Danon, a powerful and popular Israeli leader, sat down and talked to us on a range of issues.  His rising political power and nationalistic views, will probably be major factors in Israel policy moving forward.

This is part 2 in a 3 part segment:
---------------------------

Parts 1 & 3 of exclusive Danny Danon interview:

Israel's Danny Danon says Washington's lack of leadership speeds Iran towards the bomb

Israel will be energy independent, can America follow their example?

--------------------------
Knowing Israel has vaunted intelligence services, I asked Mr. Danon if he knew who funded the flotillas. Unhesitatingly he replied:  “There was a definite linkage between the flotillas and terrorists organizations.”

Of course one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.

I told Mr. Danon that many people in Ireland are sympathetic towards those they perceive as being occupied or repressed and naturally want to see some settlement to the Gaza and West Bank situation in Palestine/Israel.  Ireland looks at its own occupation by Britain for hundreds of years and sees some comparison to the situation in Gaza, either rightly or wrongly.  We know it is a far more complicated issue, but  perception is key.

Since Irish activists were key in these flotillas and crewed ships such as The Rachel Corrie and  the MV Saoirse, which embarked from Ireland, it was a natural question to ask Danon if he thought Ireland was a base for anti Israel sentiment?

Danon replied: “I don’t think you can label Ireland as anti Israel or a terrorist base.  We have many good friends in Ireland who support us.  So it is not Ireland per se, but a terror threat can emanate from any country and we take measures for our security as needed and necessary, no matter where a threat may emanate from.”

I asked Danon, if Israel had been under the control of a Danny Danon government, would he have reacted any differently to Flotillas trying to penetrate Israel’s security ring around Gaza?

“These flotillas were not seeking any type of humanitarian support, they were seeking confrontation”  I think we should have handled it differently, just like any free and democratic country would have done.  If someone tries to enter your state without permission…You stop him, no matter what.”

He went on:  “Because we were not sure about what we should do, our reaction was not strong enough” As a result our actions encouraged more activities like these, to actually seek confrontation and nothing else.”

Of course you reached out to the UN for support during this time and particularly the United States, your ally.  We noticed that US Ambassador Susan Rice, didn’t bother to show up for the emergency meeting, what gives with that?

“When Ambassador Rice didn’t show up to the emergency meeting on the flotilla, it brought a realization to us that we have to rely only on ourselves.  We know we have the US citizens support, but the White House administration doesn’t understand what we are faced with.”

"The American citizens know who is good and bad.  Israel is being attacked for having the same values as our shared democracies.  Because we are in the neighborhood, we are first to confront the very forces aligned against us and the very existence of the United States."

Part 3 will discuss Israels new bonanza of natural gas and what it means to be not only energy independent but to be a huge exporter of this product.  Will they go all out and exploit this resource, or will they be hamstrung by the same forces who fight Americas energy producers?

Also a glimpse into Israeli gun control laws, are they strict about it? Do they have the same type of gun violence in their country that the US is experiencing?

Read Mr. Danons excellent book:  "Israel, The will to Prevail"

Decades of mismanagement have left our forests vulnerable to terrorism

Smokey Bear told us: “Only we can prevent forest fires.” But behind him was a vast and growing firefighting bureaucracy, equipped with fleets of heavy equipment, aerial tankers, helicopters and satellite guided workforces.

This firefighting juggernaut has not only crushed many would be disastrous fires over the years, but many beneficial ones as well.

Many of the forests protected by these fire fighting efforts have also been shielded from best forest management practices.  In the name of restoring our forests to their former pre-mankind condition, man was taken out of the equation. As a result, many of our forests are unnaturally overgrown with decades of underbrush, dry branches and millions of disease ridden trees.

But the west is now on fire and reports say some of these fires have been caused by arson. This  leads many to believe that America's national security Achilles heel,  is it's tinder dry, over protected, overgrown forests, which can instantly be transformed into mega-fires with one match.

The Lake Tahoe basin which sits on the border of California and Nevada was managed by a maze of bureaucratic environmental agencies.  Through ineptitude, these agencies did not allow property owners to even hand clean brush on their property, in the fear that it would intrude on the "natural state" of the forest.

As a result of this idiotic forest management practice, the area was consumed by a mega fire which burned down 253 homes and consumed 3,100 acres……This is just 1 small forest area out of hundreds of thousands of square miles being subjected to the same or similar practices.

But there is a solution to the madness which has proven over and over again to work.  When these rampaging fires reach privately managed forest land, they are checked.

Privately owned or leased forests, are maintained to produce a healthy vibrant environment which can in turn, be used to harvest timber and forest products.  They are in the business of having forests of healthy trees and do what’s necessary to make them that way.

I spoke to Tom Ray, vice president of northwest resources for Plum Creek Corporation. Plum Creek is the largest and most geographically diverse private timberland owner in the United States with approximately 6.6 million acres of timber in major timber producing regions of the country.

Tom helps manage his company’s land according to the Sustainable Forest Initiative, which looks out for the best long term care of their forests.  These practices include thinning-harvesting of timber and brush clearing as necessary.

Managing the land in a healthy vibrant condition is good for the forests as well as for the owners of the property.

Tom said out of control fires on public lands that have swept into managed forests, have been stopped.  The fire intensity lessened due to the availability of less fuel and the presence of access roads on managed forests allowed personnel to reach the fires.

Much of Plum Creeks 6.6 million acres of land is open to the public for recreation purposes as well, showing that private forest land management is compatible with public use.

When you look at the ability of just one corporation to successfully manage 6.6 million acres of forest land, it doesn’t take much to wonder why some of these practices aren’t transferred to our national and state forestlands.  After all, the public can have access to these privately managed lands that are not dry diseased tinderboxes.

Peter Kolb, Associate Professor of Forest management at the University of Montana has been observing the effects of public policies affecting forests across the Northern Rockies for years.

Kolb has determined that forests can benefit from well planned and thoughtful tree harvesting in order to help revitalize forest landscapes that have become homogenized by a combination of past climatic phases and fire suppression, which produce mega fires.

He feels it is best to create a forest with greater species and structural diversity using a combination of thinning and irregular sized” patch” cuts.   These types of mosaics in the forest have been shown to provide firebreaks, good habitat enhancement for wildlife and a birthplace for a new generation of trees.

Such management emulates historic natural process and forests can be made more resilient and functional for the future…. This is the definition of conservation – “to keep “functioning” rather than “restoration” which is to bring back to the way it was.

But many conservation groups seem to be stuck with the outdated concept of bringing forests back to a snapshot of 200 years ago

Perhaps we should be focusing more on what it will take to keep forests healthy and functional in the future.  It seems obvious that the hands-off approach is not working all that well, and costing us an enormous federal bankroll we can ill afford.

Private companies could provide active forest management more consistent with conservation, and at no cost.  But rather could provide tax revenue and jobs, in exchange for harvesting some timber across the vast national forests of the west.

Forestry, logging and science, have come a long way over the decades, it’s time to move into the future and allow a different paradigm to take over.  It’s time to help our forests cope with changes in climate and the wildfires and insect outbreaks that come with them in unprecedented destructive waves.
