Company that brought medical relief to Ireland, Mushatt's to serve the rest of the world
Mushatt's isn’t yet a household name in America, but Michael Foley is determined to change that. Foley has been the president of Mushatts LLC, since 2010 and since then has worked hard to introduce his company to other parts of the world.
Mushatt's has a rich history in Ireland where it helped thousands of poor families overcome ailments that beset them during the tenement days of poverty.
Harry Mushatt set up his “chemist” shop in Dublin’s poorest tenement district, known as the Liberties in the 1920’s. An excerpt from “Dublin Tenement Life” helps explain what the times were like back then:
“You never saw doctors. You could go to a chemist and even if your throat was cut, he’d give you a cure for it. He’d put a dressing on it. Mr. Mushatt was in Francis Street-he was the masterpiece, for a bad chest, bad back…..from north, south, east and west, people’d come for them. People trusted him as he concocted his own old fashioned medicines in the rear compounding room. His lotions, potions, and tablets were thought to be the purest medicines. People really believed in them, swore by them.”
No one was more famous than Harry Mushatt and his brother who served the people of the “Liberties” for nearly half a century from their tiny shop on Francis Street.
Harry Mushatt tells it like it is back then in “Dublin Tenement Life:”
“We made our own medicines in the shop. My brother and I made up forty-four different preparations, from skin ointments, psoriasis ointments, foot pastes, stomach bottles, skin crèmes, tablets for kidneys, headaches, neuralgia….all different things. Oh, there was a bond of trust and they’d come into the shop and it would be packed out. Tenement people, if one wasn’t feeling well, or met with an accident, Go to Mushatts!, they’d say....They came from all over Dublin”
The chemists and apothecaries of that by-gone era have now been replaced by impersonal chain store pharmacies, it is hard to find that personal touch and relationship that Harry Mushatt gave to his community.
Yet after all of these years, Mushatt's is still carrying on the family tradition of helping folks with their unique brand of remedies.
Although Harry Mushatt and his brother are long gone, their carefully guarded secret notebook with the formula for every one of their potions and compounds has been handed down to a new generation of pharmacist. Sean Foley has made available Mushatt's medicines at his Foley Pharmacy on Thomas Street in Dublin and far beyond.
Mushatt's No. 9 skin therapy products have been making inroads throughout the US and Europe under the careful guidance of Michael Foley, an Irishman, with an extensive background in running successful international business operations.
Foley was longtime CEO of Heineken USA and later served as CEO of Aer Lingus, besides other roles in his extensive background in business.
The successful use of the Mushatt's secret notebook, with relief from so many of mankind’s maladies, has translated into comfort for the millions of people who purchase Mushatt's products in Ireland, the US and Europe.
Listen to their therapeutic uses here
Mushatt’s No. 9 range of medicated ointments and creams are made to the original 1922 formulation and contain unique ingredients to treat psoriasis, eczema and other skin conditions and are body specific to treat the scalp, skin or face. Clinical tests have shown Mushatt’s No. 9 products to be hypoallergenic and a non-irritant.
Mushatts is available from most major on line pharmacies, including Drugstore.com, Walgreens.com, CVS .com, Amazon.com, as well as a growing number of good retail pharmacy stores throughout the USA.

Snakes in a Church: National Geographic brings you inside a bizarre American cult
Serpents have gotten a bad rap throughout history. In Genesis, the serpent beguiled Eve to lure Adam into taking the fateful bite of the apple.
In the New Testament, the Book of Revelation makes use of the serpent several times to identify Satan the dragon, as an ancient serpent.
Lets face it, many people are very afraid of snakes because they slither, hiss and can strike you with sharp fangs that deliver lethal poison. To bolster that reputation and fear, snake bites kill at least one hundred thousand people per year and injure perhaps another million.
The Bible has many archaic passages, if you search you can take one and create a religion with it…some would be called cults:
“They will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
This is the basis of the 100 year old Christian Pentecostal sect known as the “Holiness.”
National Geographic takes us inside this bizarre world of cult religion to reveal the strange practices that most people would recoil from. “Snake Salvation” Premieres Tuesday, September 10, at 9:00 and 9:30 PM ET/PT
These true believers feel their only salvation and way to heaven is to handle and dance with deadly snakes while speaking in strange tongues, even quaffing down a chaser of strychnine to add a bit more excitement…..But they also believe, not participating in their religious practice will destine them to hell.
To understand this obscure religion practiced mainly in the back country of Appalachia, executive producer Matthew Testa follows the exploits of 2 pastors and their adherents as they pursue their beliefs and maintain their churches.
Testa said: "They firmly believe they are commanded by the Bible to take up serpents as a sign to non-believers, and feel strongly they are exercising their religious freedom as guaranteed by the Constitution. They often say, 'God's law trumps the law of man. "
One of the Pastors is 9 fingered Jamie Coots, (lost his other finger to a rattlesnake bite). Coots has lead the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name for nearly 20 years, which was founded by his snake handling grandfather in Middlesboro Kentucky. See family tradition here
The other Pastor is 22 year old Andrew Hamblin, who used to be a member of Pastor Jamies congregation. Hamblin is struggling to provide for his wife and 5 children and must rely on food stamps as he tries to maintain his church.
Episodes of Snake Salvation will follow these two Pastors as they find and sustain their collection of venomous snakes to use in their services. They head out on snake roundups, racing to find dens of their coveted cold-blooded reptiles before winter starts and the snakes go into hiding.
With both pastors too financially strapped to purchase their supply, they are often forced to get creative to keep their stock thriving,( See the snake room) be it snake trading at “Repticon,” the reptile convention, or illegally transporting venomous reptiles from warmer climates across state lines. Even if they can keep their snake population thriving, and stay out of jail, they’re also challenged to find and retain followers to their unorthodox faith.
Many community members scoff at their bizarre practices, members of their own families teeter on faithfulness and reformed criminals use it as their best defense against backsliding into sin. Viewers will even see occasions when church members were bitten by the venomous serpents as National Geographic cameras were rolling. But the pastors’ own faith never falters that they’ll be able to inspire their masses to seek their personal Snake Salvation. See a trailer here
FYI to Pastor Jamie and Pastor Andrew: There is also a passage in the Bible that says“Do Not Tempt God”

Father Malachi Martin: Vatican envoy and exorcist
Recently Lionsgate Home Entertainment sent a copy of a newly
released DVD called “The Possession."
I popped it into the machine and for the next hour and a
half watched a story based loosely on a real event; A young girl buys an
antique box at a yard sale, unaware that it is actually a Dybbuk Box. According
to Jewish folklore the box was used to house ancient demons. Soon she begins
exhibiting Linda Blair’s "Exorcist" symptoms.
I yelled at the TV screen several times, trying to warn the
young woman NOT to open the box…But she didn’t hear me and predictably, the
demon was released to set up shop in her body.
Of course the story has a Yiddish twist. Instead of the heroic
Priest entering armed with a crucifix, holy water and a holy book.....this
one features a Rabbi with a Torah and the Star of David.
The story had a happy ending for the girl and her family….
however the Rabbi, who gave his all, met a horrible fate and the demon lived on
to inhabit another hapless victim.
But the premise of the movie reminded me of a Priest who I
used to communicate with years ago.
The first time I heard him was when I would awake at 0 dark
thirty a few times a week to drive to my job in the city. On the way, I would turn on the radio for
company. One morning the first voice to
greet me was the melodious accent of an Irishman. Of course, I tuned in to hear what he was
speaking about.
That voice was Father Malchi Martin, a Kerry Ireland native,
learned scholar, author and traveling envoy for the Vatican. At the time, he was a guest of the largest
syndicated radio show in the world…so he was speaking to millions of
listeners.
The drive took me an hour as I listened to how how he described
his brushes with evil. How every person
has crossroads, how the seductive power
of evil draws you down a path, even a seemingly insignificant one and puts you at risk.
As he went on, he described how he sometimes
went to the extreme and ended up performing exorcisms on people who had become
possessed.
Father Martin was a firm believer in the power of evil and battled it throughout his career as a Catholic Priest.
What he was talking about reminded me of Dr. Scott Peck, an
author who was selling tons of books at the time. .A brilliant psychiatrist and
author, his books combined medical science along with his personal experiences.
I had just read his “Road Less Travelled” and now had picked up his other book “People
of the Lie” See video
People of the Lie, was Pecks scientific study of evil. He took documented cases of patients treated
over his career and painstakingly investigated the genesis of evil. It was chilling to read of the cruelty that
leaped out of that book. In fact he prefaced “People of the Lie” with the
warning that “it was a dangerous book.”
That day I wrote Fr. Martin
a message. I let him know I had heard his interview on the radio and was
appreciative of his points. I also
informed him there was a prominent figure in the scientific/media world who
would be a great person for him to contact and compare notes with, Dr. Scott
Peck.
Later that night Fr. Martin sent his blessings via
email. He thanked me for my input and
suggestion, but that he was already very aware of Scott Peck and knew him
personally.
As I read the rest of Peck’s “People of the
Lie,” I reached chapter 5, Peck wrote of his experiences with exorcism
and how he had worked with Fr.Martin in two of them. He described the exorcisms in detail from a
scientific, case study point of view.
From time to time after that, I kept in touch with Fr. Martin. I always
appreciated his intelligence and controversial points of view on the Church, as
well as society in general.
Fr. Malachi Martin was an accomplished best selling author
who possessed not only superb writing skills but also displayed tremendously
keen insights into the Vatican,
its operations and problems.
His excellent contacts in Rome gave him first hand knowledge. However,
he made enemies by his criticisms of those in positions of power and
prominence, especially when he came out with his novel “Windswept House." A Vatican novel.
Fr. Martin was asked if he feared for his life since writing
"Windswept House". He just said that he was, but was too old to
change his ways.
But Father Martin soon met his death, many think it was under very suspicious
circumstances. He was found unconscious and bleeding in his home with wood
fragments imbedded in his skull. Some say he
regained consciousness just briefly enough to declare that it was a murder
attempt, but that he did not get a chance to see who did it. Fr. Martin fell
into a coma and died on July 27, 1999. He was 78 at the time of his death.
A documentary titled ‘Malachi Martin: The Pope’s Exorcist’ is in Pre-Production at Irish Causeway Pictures. Belfast producers Chris Patterson and Paddy McCarney plan on featuring the life and times of one of religions most famous figures.

Murray Energy, the canary in the mineshaft for America and its source of power
Robert Murray, CEO of Murray Energy, Americas
largest privately owned coal company, has been a strong and articulate defender
of his industry.
Murray
has over 3,000 employees and their families, who depend on his leadership and
good judgment for their livelihoods.
Countless thousands of other jobs depend on support industries that rely
on the shipping, handling and processing of what he produces……Millions of
Americans depend on Murray Energy to light and heat their homes for a modest
price.
Mr. Murray is a frequent guest on television shows who seek
him out for his business acumen & expertise on what it takes to keep Americas
economic engine fueled.…. he has never shied away from speaking his mind.
Mr. Murray and I have been communicating over the future of America’s energy industry and what can be done
to keep America’s
energy prices affordable.
I was taken by surprise when Mr. Murray sent me an email with an excerpt
from his private staff meeting held yesterday.
What I read within alarmed me, because he is a strong, steady,
intelligent leader, whose history is not one of making knee jerk reactions.
On the corner of the attached email was a note to me in his handwriting,
telling me to feel free to use this information as I feel fit to do. As a result I have decided to post it in its
entirety and share it with my fellow Americans.
In a sign of the gravity that Mr. Murray feels America
has come to, he accompanied the notes of his meeting with a prayer, which I
will also post.
What I foresee in America
Staff Meeting
November 7, 2012
1. Drastically reduced economic activity
2. Reduced electric power consumption
3. Drastically reduced coal markets w/worse coal pricing
4. Total destruction of the coal industry by 2030
5. Enactment of 12 EPA regs alone, by the Obama
Administration
6. Per Sen Imhoffe: 3 regs on greenhouse gas, MACT &
coal ash will cost USA
600 billion
7. Likely a carbon tax will be forced to subsidize the
government and “receivers” (Obama
supporters) in the total destruction of the coal industry, as early as 2030.
8. All coal companies are performing drastically worse than
their CEO’s and boards want to report and this is understandable with their
concerns for stock prices/refinancing.
9. Most public companies will not be able to continue to
emphasize any positive they had, while avoiding the negatives in their
statements and opinions.
10. The markets will soon take away this ability from these
public CEO’s/directors
11. Of course private companies will abandon this industry
12. We must prepare for this today and we cannot bleed cash
waiting for competitors to be eliminated.
13. We must totally go into survival mode and generate all
of the cash that we can from whatever we have left that can help us.
14. We must tear down all structures of Murray Energy and
reassemble them.
15. While putting Murray Energy into a survival mode, I will
be fighting allegations from radical Obama supporters, that you know are
blatantly false and were inspired only
to shut down opposition to them on behalf of our employees, your area and our
country.
16. We must be passionate and austere in all that we do.
Robert E. Murray
Chairman, President and CEO
My Prayer
Dear Lord:
The American people have made their choice. They have
decided America
must change its course, away from the principles of our founders….And away from
the idea of individual freedom and individual responsibility….Away from
capitalism, economic responsibility and personal acceptance.
America
is no longer America.
We are a country in favor of
redistribution, national weakness and reduced standard of living and lower
levels of personal freedom.
My regret Lord is that our young people, including those in
my own family, never will know what America was like, or could have
been. They will pay the price in their reduced standard of living and most
especially, reduced freedom.
The takers outvoted the producers. In response to this I
have turned to my Bible and in II Peter, Chapter 1 vs. 4-9 it says: “To faith
we are to add goodness; to goodness, knowledge; to knowledge, self control, perseverance;
to perseverance; godliness; to godliness, kindness; to brotherly kindness,
love.
Lord please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy
Corporation for the decisions we are now forced to make to preserve the very
existence of any enterprises that you have helped us build. We ask for your guidance
in this drastic time with the drastic decisions that will be made to have any
hope of our survival as an American business enterprise.
Amen
Robert Murray

Israel’s Danny Danon says Irelands Freedom Flotilla was funded by terrorists
Danon, a powerful and popular Israeli leader, sat down and
talked to us on a range of issues. His
rising political power and nationalistic views, will probably be major factors
in Israel
policy moving forward.
This is part 2 in a 3 part segment:
---------------------------
---------------------------
Parts 1 & 3 of exclusive Danny Danon interview:
Israel's Danny Danon says Washington's lack of leadership speeds Iran towards the bomb
Israel will be energy independent, can America follow their example?
--------------------------
Knowing Israel has vaunted intelligence services, I asked Mr. Danon if he knew who funded the flotillas. Unhesitatingly he replied: “There was a definite linkage between the flotillas and terrorists organizations.”
Of course one mans freedom fighter is another mans
terrorist.
I told Mr. Danon that many people in Ireland are sympathetic towards those they
perceive as being occupied or repressed and naturally want to see some
settlement to the Gaza and West
Bank situation in Palestine/Israel. Ireland
looks at its own occupation by Britain
for hundreds of years and sees some comparison to the situation in Gaza, either rightly or
wrongly. We know it is a far more
complicated issue, but perception is
key.
Since Irish activists were key in these flotillas and crewed
ships such as The Rachel Corrie and the MV
Saoirse, which embarked from Ireland,
it was a natural question to ask Danon if he thought Ireland
was a base for anti Israel
sentiment?
Danon replied: “I don’t
think you can label Ireland
as anti Israel
or a terrorist base. We have many good
friends in Ireland
who support us. So it is not Ireland per se,
but a terror threat can emanate from any country and we take measures for our
security as needed and necessary, no matter where a threat may emanate from.”
I asked Danon, if Israel
had been under the control of a Danny Danon government, would he have reacted
any differently to Flotillas trying to penetrate Israel’s
security ring around Gaza?
“These flotillas were
not seeking any type of humanitarian support, they were seeking confrontation” I think we should have handled it differently,
just like any free and democratic country would have done. If someone tries to enter your state without
permission…You stop him, no matter what.”
He went on: “Because we were not sure about what we
should do, our reaction was not strong
enough” As a result our actions encouraged more activities like these, to actually
seek confrontation and nothing else.”
Of course you reached out to the UN for support during this
time and particularly the United
States, your ally. We noticed that US Ambassador Susan Rice,
didn’t bother to show up for the emergency meeting, what gives with that?
“When Ambassador Rice didn’t show up to the emergency
meeting on the flotilla, it brought a realization to us that we have to rely only on
ourselves. We know we have the US citizens
support, but the White House administration doesn’t understand what we are
faced with.”
"The American citizens know who is good and bad. Israel is being attacked for having
the same values as our shared democracies.
Because we are in the neighborhood, we are first to confront the very
forces aligned against us and the very existence of the United States."
Part 3 will discuss Israels new bonanza of natural gas
and what it means to be not only energy independent but to be a huge exporter
of this product. Will they go all out
and exploit this resource, or will they be hamstrung by the same forces who
fight Americas
energy producers?
Also a glimpse into Israeli gun control laws, are they
strict about it? Do they have the same type of gun violence in their country that the US is experiencing?

The seeds of Che Guevara Lynch sprout in the country of his death -- Bolivia
"To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary...These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. We must create the pedagogy of the The Wall! (El Paredón)" --Ernesto 'Che' Guevara Lynch
The Irish in Latin America played key roles in the turbulent past of this hemisphere. Many heroic names that indicate Irish ancestry are attached to seminal change in countries throughout the land. But there is one name in particular, that evokes harsh angry opinions of those that value freedom.
Che Guevara Lynch, whose familiar visage is sported on T shirts and posters is considered by many to be an international terrorist and mass murderer. During his vicious campaigns to impose communism on countries throughout Latin America, Guevara trained and motivated the Castro regime's firing squads executing thousands of men, women and children.
Not content to spread revolution, murder and mayhem on the American continent, he traveled to Africa where revolution was brewing in the Congo. The Cubans working as surrogates for the USSR, were used to help impose communism and violence on the people of Africa. Guevara lead a small contingent of Cubans in an effort to topple the government, but was unsuccessful in this endeavor.......but it opened the door for larger incursions later, that lead to the deaths of thousands of innocent people in African conflicts.
Guevara left Africa and returned to Latin America, ending up in Bolivia leading terrorist attacks against that government. But after years of escaping the backlash from the violence he inflicted on others, in Bolivia his luck ran out. He was tracked down and eventually captured by brave dedicated soldiers of the Bolivian army. Unfortunately for Che Guevara, the Bolivian army had read his playbook. They showed him the same respect towards human life that he himself showed to so many in the past; he was summarily executed in the jungles of Bolivia.
But the blood spilled that day has sprouted a new brand of repression and communism in the beautiful country of Bolivia. A new repressive/communist narco state is emerging from the mineral rich and simmering social pot in this part of Latin America.
Bolivia is a mid-size state in the middle of Latin America, a rich natural gas country. It was taken over by President Evo Morales in 2006. A former coca-grower, the ultra leftist president of Bolivia, is pro Iran and after 6 years in power is promoting a socialist agenda like that of his friend and close ally Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, including the expropriation of private businesses.
Evo Morales is part of a large ethnic group call aimara. They now rule the country with a critical agenda against q-aras or blancos (white bolivian-spaniards) and quechuas and guaranies.
During the past 6 years of his iron rein, Morales has been able to intimidate, censor, and prosecute any Bolivians who criticize him or thwart his political agenda. His Congress has passed laws expanding the government's powers to limit free speech and punish its critics, while the Supreme Court, packed with Evo Morales supporters, has explicitly rejected the principle that the judiciary should serve as a check on presidential power.
The Bolivian Evo Morales regime has enacted rules that dramatically reduce the public's right to obtain information held by the government. The communist administration's constant attacks on local rights defenders, whom authorities portray as enemies of the people, has helped make them more vulnerable to acts of intimidation by low-level officials and threats and acts of violence by Evo Morales supporters.
The Bolivian regime, called the "pluri-national state of Bolivia" under marxist conception, has sent a clear message to judges, journalists, broadcasters and rights defenders in particular, that the president Evo Morales and his followers are willing and able to punish people who challenge or obstruct their political aims.
Although many Bolivians and Latin American leaders continue to criticize the government, the fear of reprisal has had a chilling effect on the media and undercut the ability of judges to adjudicate politically sensitive cases.
Bolivia has several cases of arbitrary government abuse related to persecution of local governors. These governors of Bolivian states of Tarija, Pando and Cochabamba, are now living in exile in Paraguay and US.
Almost 50 years ago Che Guevara Lynch was killed in Bolivia. But todays Bolivia is in the process of falling under the same sort of repressive regime that he helped instill in Cuba. His violent works seem to have been forgotten by some and are now replaced by a sort of romanticism and mystique....But not in many areas of the world where Guevaras wounds are still remembered freshly and in countries where the repressive regimes of communism are rearing their ugly heads, like Bolivia.
Perhaps The Real Cuba.Com explained it best when they noted the popularity of the Che T shirts and posters proliferating in certain American circles:
"So why do so many well-heeled American liberals still admire this thug? Are the young simply ignorant of his execrable record and drawn to the image of the dashing young rebel? Do older progressives feel guilt for their free market prosperity, and showing solidarity with Che absolves them? Do hippies-turned-yuppies get nostalgic for their youthful protests and rationalize that the symbolism of Che as a “social reformer” eclipses his actual horrific human rights record? And are some American Guevaraistas truly dangerous leftists who seek to emulate their icon and destroy our free, democratic, capitalist society? Ask that guy wearing the Che t-shirt."
