New Mexico Governor fights threat to our National security

New Mexico citizens voted in a new Governor who is no nonsense when it comes to protecting the citizens. This new Governor is attempting to undo some of the laws enacted during Governor Richardson's watch. Some of these laws threaten national security.

Governor Susan Martinez was district attorney for 14 years prior to being elected Governor in 2010. During her stint, Martinez had a record of battling public corruption. She was responsible for convicting the Doña Ana County Clerk of five felony charges of violating election code and a municipal court judge was convicted of voter fraud.

With her law enforcement background, it was easy for her to identify weaknesses in the states very liberal laws concerning illegal immigration.

Her experience lead her to focus on the New Mexico law that grants drivers license to illegal/undocumented aliens. These licenses are issued without any requirement of a social security number and no proof of citizenship is required. As long as you give a New Mexico address, a license will be granted. On the surface it seems, what's the problem with giving someone a drivers license, what harm can it do? Actually it can do a lot to harm our country.

New Mexico and Washington are the only states that allow illegal immigrants to obtain the same driver's license as a U.S. citizen. A state issued drivers license with a picture, is an acceptable form of identification in all 50 states. Once you have a state issued drivers license it allows you to board aircraft, open bank accounts and make financial transactions. It is also an acceptable form of picture identification which some states are requiring in order to vote. This law can and has, opened up our country to security breaches, but it also helps compromise our voting system.

Governor Martinez contends that New Mexico's license system is subject to widespread fraud. The state has brought charges against international fraud rings, where brokers were paid to supplement fraudulent documents for foreign nationals from other countries.

The Associated Press found that dozens of addresses, including those of businesses, have been used over and over again by immigrants to get a driver's license, suggesting a pattern of abuse.

Since 2003, New Mexico has issued more than 90,000 of these license to "immigrants" officials speculate that most of those have gone to illegal immigrants. However, it's impossible to know because it is against the law to ask about their immigration status. How many of these "immigrants" are drug cartel soldiers? How many of these "immigrants" are foreign terrorists?

Just for the sake of national security, these drives license laws for undocumented people should be stopped immediately. Attorney General Eric Holder and Head of National Security, Janet Napolitano should be all over this threat to our national interests. But instead they are busy suing states that have tried to assure their election systems are cleaned up of fraud and states that are enforcing their immigration laws.

Irish freedom fighters in Latin America would not like this change

Waves of Irish immigrants washed to all shores of the world when our homeland was in turmoil. But the shores we are most known for are in North America, England and Australia. Over the years as we assimilated in our new homes, we have courageously fought for rights and risked our lives in the armies of our adopted countries. Disproportionately for our numbers, Irish names fill the pages of history books when it comes mention of heroism.

But less known, is the influence Irish have had in Latin America over the past 200 + years. The Irish fought alongside our brothers and sisters in our new homeland. Irish shed blood with them in many wars to help free them of the tyranny of colonialism.

The commander of the Argentine Navy and armed forces was Admiral William Brown, who emigrated from County Wexford over 200 years ago. He played a pivotal role in Argentinas fight from the rule of Spain, which eventually lead to the freedom of colonial rule. Chile, Modern Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia all were helped by his efforts. He is considered a national hero to the people of Argentina

Many notable Irish names were associated with revolutions, throughout Latin America. Bernardo O'Higgins, is considered one of the founding Fathers of Chile. William Lamport's statue stands in the crypt of heroes in Mexico City and of course statues stand in honor of the many Irish who fought and died with their Mexican brethren in wars of independence.

The Irish had a huge impact on Simon Bolivar, the Father of freedom in South America. Irish with the names of William Ferguson, Daniel O'Leary, Morgan O'Connell and countless others fought with bravery under Bolivar to end the tyranny of colonial rule. The Irish Legions gave much to South American freedom.

But todays South America is coming under another tyranny and it is spreading it's tentacles into countries that Irish lost their lives for.

Venezuela has been transformed into a semi communist dictatorship under Hugo Chavez, who took his one term presidency as a mandate to be ruler for life. His close ties with Iran, who is a major exporter of oil and terrorism, does not bode well for Venezuelans and other freedom loving people in that part of the world.

But more disturbing to the memory of the Irish who respect the name of Simon Bolivar, is what is happening to the country named after him, Bolivia.

The landlocked, but resource rich country in natural gas, Bolivia came under the boot of a leader who is getting to be known to some as the Robert Mugabe of the Andes of South America, President Evo Morales.

Close friends with Venezuelas Hugo Chavez, Irans Achmadenajad, Cubas Fidel Castro and the recently departed Libyan dictator, Moammar Gadaffy, Morales came to power in a coup, by overthrowing democratically elected President Sanchez de Lozada in 2003. The coup was financed by Hugo Chavez, according former Bolivian officials. Since that time he has followed the Chavez model of consolidating power by changing the constitution, which has allowed him to remain in power. He is systematically removing political opponents from power, including governors, mayors, head of the central bank and others who are in political opposition, through a rigged judiciary system.

Following the narco economic model, Bolivia is now one of the worlds top producers of cocaine and is the worlds 2nd largest producer of coca, the raw material used to manufacture cocaine.

Bolivia also has huge resources of natural gas which it will import to the U.S., mainly to California. Perhaps the State Department under Hillary Clinton, can demand some changes to the Bolivian government since the US is a major consumer?

Slowly being transformed from a democratically elected government into a communist, racial dictatorship, Bolivia runs counter to what the spirit and memory of all that the Irish fought and died for many years ago in helping to liberate this part of the world.

"Red Tails" - from a unique American perspective - VIDEO

"Red Tails" poster
Author Jana Neweley offered to write her particular perspective to our readers on what this movie represents to her. Jana writes about American Conservative Politics from her point of view as a black conservative woman.

The Red tails movie is out in theaters and becoming a success. The previous story I wrote about the movie, drew many responses from the public. George Lucas film "RedTails" proves race still a big factor with Hollywood elite - VIDEO From time to time I will invite another author to contribute their unique view to our readers on subjects that are of interest.

The name red tail, conjures up the image of a hawk lazily soaring on thermals far above the earth, searching for quarry with its powerful eyesight. The red tail hawk is an aerodynamic predator designed to instantly transform from lazy glide, into a diving weapon of death for any target it sets its' sights set on.

But there was another form of red tail that roamed the skies of Europe during World War II. These Red Tails dealt death and destruction to America's enemies. George Lucas’s latest movie, Red Tails, honors these warriors of the sky, who were also known as the Tuskegee Airmen.

These young black men were educated, skilled and trained to do a job, but high-ranking military officers of the day doubted “Negroes” could handle it......These officers were proven wrong. Not only could these black pilots fly sophisticated combat aircraft, they were more than capable of outsmarting and outmaneuvering the enemy.

These Airmen were the best, having gone through the U.S. Army Air Corps training program at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, where they studied navigation, aircraft engines, science, math, codes and other courses. As cadet Airmen, they were required to take standardized tests to determine their I.Q., dexterity and leadership abilities... guess what? They met and exceeded standards set for Airmen of the day.

After completion of their training in the States, they were assigned combat duty over the dangerous and deadly skies of Europe, where one wrong move didn't just get you a demerit, it got you killed. The Tuskegee Airmen soon proved the claims false that Negroes didn't have the brainpower or coordination to handle fighter aircraft in combat conditions. In time, the Red Tails earned a reputation for being a unit that escorted bomber aircraft safely to their target(s) and home again. But it wasn't without great cost to the Airmen, as 66 of them were killed during service to their country

The Tuskegee Airmen were an elite fighter group, and have continued to receive recognition for their heroic acts in a multitude of museums, historical societies and aeronautic associations. Also, I think it is important to point out that the Tuskegee Airmen were comprised of not just pilots, but navigators, bombardiers, maintenance crew and instructors, all of which are crucial for a successful mission.

To say that I enjoyed this movie would be an understatement. Truth is, I was filled with pride as a black woman from a family where the men have served in every branch of the Armed Forces. I mean, there in front of me on the silver screen, were actors portraying men of honor like my grandfather, father, uncles, and cousins. It was a look back in America’s history to remind us this is where opportunity can lead you, but only if you work hard to get it. This is why I believe the success of the Tuskegee Airmen was more than seizing the moment. I believe the success of the Red Tails grew out of a strong sense of values, determination and courage that these black men exemplified.

Something else I find remarkable about them is the example they set when they chose to use their military training and education to be exceptional beyond their tour of duty. Once the war ended, many of the Tuskegee Airmen returned home and became doctors, lawyers and businessmen. Others made the decision to remain in the military or work for the government.

But all of these men continued to display the same courage and determination that so many said they would never be able to muster. For this, the Tuskegee Airmen will always be true heroes to my family.

President Obama will try to sell us on four more years tonight

President Barack Obama
President Obama will be delivering a State of the Union Speech tonight to a joint session of Congress and members of the Supreme Court.

From talking points being released, it is becoming obvious it will be a campaign speech more than a State of the Union speech. Instead of a unifying message of working together, it is expected that the President will be hitting hard on his theme of class warfare and his war on the straw men known as "the rich".

Expectations are he will be pointing fingers at the GOP controlled Congress as the "do nothings" for not kowtowing to his demands of more unbridled spending and stripping the military budget. Of course he will be overlooking the fact that the Senate & House are full of members of his party as well. What finger will he be pointing at them?

But a good offense is the best defense, as President Obamas promises to the American public have not materialized over the past three years. In reality the President has little to brag about for his first term in office and has no alternative but to attack others to take the focus off his record.

President Obama promised he would cut the budget deficit in half in his first term. Nothing could be farther from the truth as our deficit has exploded under his leadership. Adding to the blatant unreality of his promise, is that the country hasn't even had a budget in the past 1,000 days of his Presidency. That in itself is an astounding failure to lead and is one of the most basic responsibilities of a leader.

He promised the economy would be his first priority in his Presidency and that jobs jobs jobs would be his main focus. But instead of focusing on the economy and jobs, he wasted his currency of good will in the beginnng of his Presidency and rammed through, in the most partisan way, a highly unpopular/ hugely expensive healthcare law. This law is his "crown jewel," but it has been sued by over 1/2 the states as an unconstitutional reach by him and his party. But in an ironic twist, the fate of his healthcare law is in the very hands of the Supreme Court Justices in the audience tonight. The same justices he insulted during a previous State of the Union Speech.

He most definitely deserves respect and congratulations on the killing of our nations top enemy, Osama Bin laden. He has also been a great backer of using drones to strike our enemies in the middle east/Africa. But it seems as if the rest of his foreign policy of selectively backing Arab springs in certain countries, is turning into a winter of crushed hopes for the people that longed for freedom. Iran is on the brink of obtaining nuclear weapons and choking off the worlds oil supply.

For the first time in our nations recent history, our credit worthiness has been downgraded by credit rating agencies. This downgrade is due to the fact that under his tenure, our politicians have failed to deal with the massive debt we have accumulated and cannot even get a budget.

Americans are still stinging by Obama's rejection of the shovel ready project that would have given us 20,000 jobs and brought us almost a million barrels of oil a day...The Keystone pipeline.

So besides the eloquent words we will hear tonight, underlying it all, is the reality of what we really face as a country.

Newt Gingrich claims huge win in South Carolina GOP Primary

Ed will be on air Monday January 23, 9:20 AM EST/2;20 PM Irish Time, to be interviewed by Gavin Grace, who hosts the Today show on radio Clare FM. Tune in for a conversation about the USA's Presidential primary race.

His poll numbers tanking just a few days ago, Newt Gingrich has risen from the political graveyard to score a smashing win in the South Carolina primary conducted today. Political pundits have been referring to him as Lazarus risen from the dead after today's tremendous win.

Gingrich didn't win by just a few points, he out scored his closest competitor, Mitt Romney by 13 points, or 74,000 votes. He beat 3rd place finisher Rick Santorum by 23 points and last place finisher Ron Paul by 27 points.

It also looks like Newt will have swept every county in South Carolina, thereby capturing every delegate that the State had up for grabs, truly stunning. It gives Gingrich great momentum & great fund raising ability heading into the Florida primary only ten days from now.

Mitt Romney had entered the South Carolina primary as the odds on favorite after winning New Hampshire. He even had the full endorsement and backing of Governor Niki Haley, who actively campaigned for him. Newt on the other hand had come in a distant 4th in New Hampshire and there was talk that it might be all over for him if he didn't get a good showing in South Carolina. So Gingrich chose to work hard and run a spirited campaign throughout the state.....Then came the evening of January 16, when South Carolina held it's 1st of 2 debates and Newt was on fire.

The first debate was the turning point for him in this race when he was able to capture the imaginations of many voters in South Carolina and America by showing he would be capable of standing toe to toe with Obama to defeat him in the debate arena and the arena of ideas. Shortly after this debate Governor Perry dropped out of the race and put his name behind Newt.

That debate gave Gingrich rising popularity and poll numbers throughout the state and unbelievably it looked like he was overtaking Romney. So to counter that the long political knives came out again for Gingrich and the negative attacks began. Millions in PAC money came out against him in attack ads. But the people of South Carolina had seen something in Newt Gingrich and weren't going to be swayed by television ads.

But laying in wait to steal victory from his grasp, ABC had a bombshell to throw at Gingrich. They had interviewed his ex-wife and were going to air it the night of the last debate, 2 days before the election. The ex Mrs. Gingrich was known to have ill will towards her ex husband and tawdry details were expected.

Right out of the gate at the debate that night, the moderator, licking his chops, confronted Gingrich about the forthcoming interview. Never at a loss for words Gingrich completely turned the tables on the moderator cutting him to pieces and by the end of the tirade, the moderator and media in general were the culprits.

The ex wife's interview was aired later that evening. She said some negative things about Newt, but people understand this and marriages end, sometimes happily, but most times not. The voters of South Carolina didn't seem to be affected by the interview, in fact some of them probably felt more inclined to vote for Gingrich because of the dirty tricks they felt were directed at Newt by the media.

Newt Gingrich was gracious with his victory speech tonight, he praised his fellow candidates and spoke of his vision for America with a positive view of our country. However he did not hold back in his criticism of President Obama and the direction he has steered our country and refers to President Obama as the food stamp President. Gingrich says he offers America a clear choice between himself and Obama by putting America back to work with good paychecks.

His first plan of action to get America back to work, is to get us energy independent by exploiting our own resources. His goal is that no future American president will ever again have to bow to a Saudi King.

Looking forward to the rumble in Florida, a whole new game. Next debate will be Monday evening January 23, in Tampa.

Will Hillary Clinton's image be stained by Keystone Pipeline rejection?

Leaks out of Hillary Clinton's State Department suggest they will reject the rerouting of the Keystone Pipeline, which means the pipeline project itself is rejected. This important conduit of new energy would have brought Canada’s tar sands oil directly down to US refineries efficiently and safely by pipeline, rather than rail, barge or truck. Ironically the pipeline would be a much more environmentally safe way to transport oil, if it is brought down to the US.

The proposed route would have bypassed the Ogallala aquifer, this removed one of the main environmental objections in the first place. Foes had said the chances of leakage by the pipeline could have tainted water supplies for millions. Proponents of the pipeline said they have many safeguards in place to prevent such an occurrence and there are hundreds of thousands of miles of pipelines in place that will attest to that safety record.

Responsibility for the rejection of the pipeline falls firmly on the State Departments shoulders. If any of the cabinet departments should know how vulnerable we are to terrorism and blackmail by outside providers of oil, the state Department should know. Witness how Iran is using its quest for nuclear weapons, by threatening the Strait of Hormuz, the most important oil shipping lane in the world.

It is also noted that Venezuela, another one of the foreign sources we rely on for our oil, is ruled by a dictator who hates America and is becoming allies with Iran. It has been reported Iran and Venezuela are teaming up to install ballistic missiles on Venezuelan soil from which they can target American cities. True or not, it is beyond comprehension that America is allowing itself to be blackmailed by powers that hate us.

------------------

The lame excuse this administration is using as cover for this rejection is that they don't have enough time to study it. In reality they have had over three years to study this pipeline, time enough to ponder this critical piece of infrastructure that can keep America’s economy humming. All bets are that the pipeline will have miraculous approval from the Obama administration, as soon as the November Presidential election has occurred.

Already labor unions that are so critical to Obama’s re-election plans are up in arms, decrying this rejection. Union leaders were counting on the estimated 20,000 new jobs the pipeline would have created, to help buoy the crippled construction industry.

It appears the rejection of the Pipeline by the Obama administration via Hillary Clintons’ State Department, is for political purposes rather than what’s best for our country’s security. If the house of foreign cards our country's energy dependence is built upon collapses, there will be more than finger pointing when it comes to next Novembers elections. Those that had a hand in forcing our country to depend on overseas foreign sources of oil, will carry that decision around for the rest of their political careers.

Newt Gingrich on fire at South Carolina Republican debate - VIDEO

GOP Presidential candidate hopefuls
Whether or not Newt Gingrich secures the GOP nomination for President, he has given America a lesson on what debates are all about.

Like the legendary Phoenix rising, Newt Gingrich rose to the occasion in South Carolina last night to bring his most fiery debate performance to date. For the first time since 1980, when Ronald Reagan electrified the crowd with his debate performance, the audience stood and gave Gingrich a standing ovation. The ovation only ended as the TV cameras cut out and went to a commercial break. No telling how long it really continued.

During the two hour televised Fox sponsored debate, Gingrich was questioned on the sensitivity of his previous remarks saying poor children don't have a good work ethic, or a role model to guide them. One of the Gingrich solutions to this was to offer part time jobs to kids in school to let them earn money and learn how to work. Moderator Juan Williams questioned the sensitivity of this statement and implied it belittled minorities.

Gingrich trained his oratorical guns on Williams and replied, in a most un PC way: "No, I don't see it that way. They'd be earning money, that is a good thing if you're poor. Only the elites despise earning money. I believe every American of every background has been endowed by their creator with the right to pursue happiness. And if that makes liberals unhappy, I'm going to continue to find ways to help poor people learn how to get a job, learn how to get a better job and learn some day to own the job."

So articulate was the Gingrich statement, Juan Williams may not have known it at the time, but he had been carved up and left wounded on the stage.

Gingrich also had an opportunity to address some of Ron Paul's dubious answers to foreign policy challenges.

Paul had compared America's foreign policy to the golden rule and used a hypothetical instance to compare America's stealth operation to kill Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan, to that of the Chinese invading our country to capture a Chinese dissident.

Gingrich fired back saying, "Bin Laden plotted to bomb American embassies, attack our ship the Cole in Yemen and kill 3,100 Americans on 911. The only regret OSL had was that he didn't kill more Americans. Bin Laden is NOT a Chinese dissident and the analogy that Congressman Paul used was utterly irrational". This drew great applause from the audience and for the first time in the many debates, the crowd started to boo Ron Paul.

Even in a post debate interview, Gingrich expressed surprise at the audience reaction to his performance saying: "We've done 15 debates, I frankly am very pleased, but also more than surprised. I think everybody was surprised by it."

Gingrich will keep up his heavy campaign schedule and try to sway voters in South Carolina to vote for him in this Saturdays primary. He just picked up the endorsement of South Carolinas Lt. Governor and hopes to win other endorsements this week. He also gets one more shot at debating his fellow candidates this Thursday evening.

Although Gingrich is behind in the polls, many voters are still undecided and are looking for a conservative alternative to Mitt Romney, the frontrunner.

He said this morning in an interview, "Voters are looking for a candidate who can go toe to toe with Obama in debates this fall and defeat him". Gingrich thinks he has proven his debate prowess and expects voters will remember that as they cast their ballots this Saturday.

Newt has previously stated that if he were the GOP Presidential candidate, he would allow Barack Obama to use his teleprompter on stage during the Presidential debates. There is an edge to Gingrich that many admire and respect but others find he is too self assured. Of course, whoever becomes President is going to need every ounce of self assurance and belief in his abilities to head this country in the right direction.

Looking forward to next Thursday's GOP debate fireworks.

George Lucas film "RedTails" proves race still a factor with Hollywood elite - VIDEO

George Lucas is a creative genius who has given us some of the most exciting and successful films in screen history. Everyone knows him for the block buster Star Wars as well as his Indiana Jones series, among many other notable hits at the box office.

Not only has his talent been used to write, direct and create films, he has also pioneered high tech wizardry in the film industry with his hugely successful, Marin county based, Industrial Light and Magic. This company has pioneered digital technology and made once nearly impossible special effects, commonplace without the need for expensive sets and casts of thousands to make movies realistic.

When George Lucas invests his considerable storytelling talents into an exciting tale for the big screen, common sense would say it would be eagerly sought by Hollywood movers and shakers for distribution rights. But it seems that was not the case.

George produced a movie centered on an epic time in world history, a time when World War II was raging. Forces between good and evil were fighting to the death in a great clash of civilizations.

Red Tail is an exciting story about the first all black squadron of American fighter pilots, who fought unbelievable racism and prejudice in order to have the honor of risking their lives in the cockpit of American fighter planes. George Lucas brought this tale to life for the big screen.

At this time in our history, blacks were considered inferior in intellect and not capable of the highly complex tasks involved in operating a fighter aircraft at such high speeds and maneuvers. Just operating an aircraft like that required extraordinary abilities, flying in combat conditions required ice water racing through your veins. Sadly for our nation, blacks were excluded from service to our country in this capacity as well as others.

But due to the insistence of the Presidents wife, Eleanor Roosevelt, the Army Air Force was forced to train a squadron of all black volunteer airmen. Reluctantly, the Air Force took the black recruits and purposely put them through the meat grinder trying to wash out as many as they could. But to the surprise of the Air force, most of these brave men were up to the task and qualified as fighter pilots.

Mrs. Roosevelt's courage to defend these brave men and give them the opportunity to prove themselves, was a great turning point in American history. These brave airmen, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, or red Tails for the distinctive markings on the aircraft's tail section, went on to to great heroism and bravery over the skies of Europe. They dueled to the death with seasoned German fighter pilots, defending our bombers.

This has to be one of the most exciting and uplifting stories in American, as well as world history. For this story to be brought to life by master story teller and film maker George Lucas, is almost a certain box office hit. Hollywood film distributors should be lined up at the sky Walker Ranch begging for film distribution, right? Wrong!

Lucas had run into a brick wall trying to get his exciting film distributed and the reasons for that failure to distribute are surprising as well as disappointing. A film that captures the essence of America breaking through the race barrier with courage and fortitude is itself a victim of the race barrier.

Hollywood elite said they didn't want to market the film because its mostly all black cast. They said they didn't think it would do well in world wide distribution.

Lucas eventually partnered with 20th Century Fox to release the film, which he hopes will be a big hit. He said, "I wanted to make it inspirational for teenage boys. I wanted to show that they have heroes; they're real American heroes, they're patriots, they helped make the country what it is today.

George Lucas is an American hero and patriot and by his persistence got his film produced and ready to distribute. But at the same time, Georges efforts have shown a side of the Hollywood liberal elite, that gets them the nickname of "limousine liberals". Ready to lecture the rest of us on how we should comport ourselves, but it seems they do not abide by the same creed.

As a side note, in 2005 George Lucas donated 1 million dollars to help fund the Martin Luther King Monument in Washington DC

New Hampshire is battleground for those against Mitt Romney

The dust had not settled in Iowa before the GOP Presidential candidates rode off to New Hampshire to continue their battle.

Fresh off his "win" in Iowa, Mitt Romney returned to the state where he has considerable infrastructure and built in support. Even their open primary style of voting tilts in his favor, allowing independent moderates to cross lines and vote. So it is a foregone conclusion Romney will take the New Hampshire primary.

But the real drama being played out in New Hampshire, is the battle for who will steal the hearts and minds of the unRomney electorate.

Polls have shown that there is great volatility in the GOP conservative base and that this electorate is looking for an alternative to the establishment's choice of Mitt Romney. So far the Romney ceiling of support has been about 25% in national polls, leaving 75% of the GOP electorate still undecided.

The two New Hampshire debates at times were vitriolic and animated. Exchanges between Rick Santorum and Ron Paul took up an inordinate amount of time on the debate stage. Santorum has tried to overtake Paul in the 2nd place position by attacking Paul's seeming isolationist policies.

Polls indicate that Santorum has lost momentum since his Iowa campaign almost grabbed the top spot. But he has been on the receiving end of negative attacks and as we have seen with other front runners, they work.

Newt Gingrich for his part has come out swinging, taking the gloves off and firing back at Romney. He has accused Romney of hiding behind pious baloney while his super PAC does all of his dirty work. It has also been revealed that Gingrich received a fresh infusion of cash of 5 million from a powerful billionaire.

John Huntsman skipped Iowa to focus his efforts here in New Hampshire. But many Republicans have a distrust of him since he worked for the Obama administration, so his chances are between slim and none of achieving the nomination. After he broke out with a short speech in Mandarin on the debate stage the other night, he has been getting the nick name of: Mandarin Manchurian candidate; unfair, but it is sticking.

Although Rick Perry had one of his best debate performances the other night, being articulate and forceful in his national defense views and smaller government vision; the New Hampshire polls don't reflect that in his popularity and he is in last place.

But clearly, Mitt Romney is the target, as all guns are trained on him and he seems to be having some slippage in the polls.

As it stands, the battle in New Hampshire will be for 2nd place and right now according to polls, Ron Paul has that position locked up. Paul is also the beneficiary of New Hampshire's open primary rules, he also gets many independents and cross over votes and his message of strictly adhering to the constitution has resonated with many Americans. If it wasn't for his isolationist foreign policy views he would probably be doing much better.

The New Hampshire primary will set the stage for the all important races of South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. These states are a whole new ballgame, they are conservative leaning and all bets are off on just who the front runners will be after they vote. Stay tuned!

Time for Catholic Church to welcome women as equals

The Catholic Church has provided comfort to billions of people over the ages by offering continuity and tradition in an always turbulent world. The church and its ceremonies have survived the dark ages, plagues, wars, and despotic governments. Through every sort of calamity imaginable, the church has remained solid, like the rock it was built upon.

But times have changed and to deal with it can be difficult. Sometimes tradition and obstinacy are blurred and if you don't recognize that, the world will pass you by. Recently, the church has been rocked by sex abuse scandals, waning influence and a worldwide shortage of Priests.

Michelle Obama felt Irish American political leaders had far too much power

Irish woman trapped in a 12-year-old girl’s body, pleads for medical help
---------------
The Church is ignoring the great social changes that have swept advanced cultures around the world, one of the major changes is that women have achieved parity with men in almost every arena....They are equal human beings. No longer are women expected to stay home and bear children. They are free to do that, but they are also free to pursue anything else and rightfully so.

In today's world women are heads of state, test pilots, astronauts, doctors, scientists, pastors, CEO's, Generals and someday soon, a conservative woman will step up to be President of the USA.

So with all of this progress throughout civilized countries of the world, why can't the church recognize that women are equals and deserve a seat at the table of power? It seems that women were able to have positions of importance in the church prior to 494 AD.

But in 494 AD, Pope Gelasius decreed women could no longer be ordained to the priesthood. From that time, women’s roles in the church diminished and they were deprived of leadership roles.

Time for the church to step into the 21st century and ordain women as priests, nominate them to be cardinals and bishops and one day soon, when we see smoke over the Vatican, it will mean a woman has been selected to be pope.

Sometimes you either change or you self destruct. Which will it be?

Brave Mom protects her infant and shoots intruder - VIDEO

Sarah McKinley
There is nothing as strong or as ferocious as a Mother protecting her home and her children. Sarah McKinley proved this point New Years Eve in Blanchard Oklahoma, as she turned the tables on a knife wielding home invasion robber, shooting him dead in her living room.

The incident began at 2:00 PM, when two men started forcing their way through the newly widowed Mothers front door. McKinley grabbed her 3 month old and the phone to dial 911, she also barricaded the front door with furniture, desperately trying to keep the intruders out.

But unbeknownst to the intruders, Sarah also had a 12 gauge shotgun in the house which she kept for self protection and she knew how to use it. While on the phone to emergency services Sarah asked the dispatcher: I have 2 guns in my hand, is it OK to shoot the intruders if they enter my house? The dispatcher replied you must do whatever you need to do to defend your baby if they enter your home.

At that time while Sarah was on the phone, one of the intruders, Justin Martin, 24, finally broke through her front door, armed with knife in hand he came towards the Mother and infant. Sarah had no choice but to squeeze the trigger of the shotgun killing the man on the spot.

Americans want the 2nd Amendment under their Christmas Tree

At the sound of the shotgun blast, the other assailant, 29 year old Dustin Stewart ran off , only to surrender to police hours later. He faces 1st degree murder charges in the death of his accomplice, since they were engaged in a violent felony when his friend was killed.

Evidently these two thieving drug addicts were aware that Sarahs husband, a lung cancer victim, had just passed away on Christmas day and they thought there would be drugs in Sarahs house. So they thought they could boldly force their way into the defenseless widowed Mothers home and steal any drugs in the premises. Only they know what else they planned on doing.

Sarah faces no criminal charges for defending herself, as it should be. In America the 2nd Amendment of the constitution gives you the right and ability to defend your home and property, with deadly force if necessary. This story also proves what a great equalizer possessing a firearm can be.

If this woman was unarmed, there is no telling what the outcome would have been to this story. Sarah and her baby could have been statistics in the drug and crime war that haunts America.

Sarah also illuminates why Americans are looking more and more towards their own home self defense in these days of calling 911 for help. When seconds count the police are only minutes away.

The main stream media is very reluctant to promote these kinds of stories of how law abiding Americans protect themselves, but they are quick to point out that gun crime and gun violence are rampant. The fact is that gun crime and gun violence are perpetrated by criminals, not the law abiding, gun owning American citizen.

Here's ABC News' report on the story:

Iowa race turning into exciting photo finish

Ed will be interviewed by Gavin Grace, who hosts the Today show on radio Clare FM. Time of the interview will be 1:45pm Irish time, 8;45 am est., January 4. Tune in for a conversation about the USA's 1st Presidential primary race.

Latest poll numbers in the Iowa GOP Presidential primary race, show three candidates are running neck and neck: Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. In fact poll numbers are so close and within the margin of error, it can be called a dead heat at this time. By tomorrow evening results should be in and we'll be able to see who places first.

Although Iowa is a small state, it claims a premium on money and attention from Presidential hopefuls. Its early primary is a week ahead of the next state of New Hampshire and approximately 3 weeks ahead of the following states of South Carolina and Florida. But the winner of Iowa will gather prestige and momentum as he enters the next round of primaries. GOP hopefuls have been spending months here, knocking on doors, talking to residents face to face, as well as spending millions of dollars in advertising.

Joseph Kennedy III likely to run for Congress say family sources- VIDEO

But the race has been volatile, with contenders having meteoric rises in popularity, then falling just as quickly. A few weeks ago Newt Gingrich surged to the front of the pack and even declared he would win, but a barrage of unprecedented negative attack ads hacked away at his image and going into tomorrows voting, he seems to be in 4th place.

Mitt Romney has been a consistent campaigner out of the rest of the field, he has never surged in popularity , but always seems to have a mid 20% base of support. Many voters who have been interviewed say the reason they support Romney is because they think he has the best chance to beat Barack Obama in the general election.

Ron Paul seems to have caught fire lately with the independent voters. Since Iowa is an open primary state, independents and even Democrats can vote in this election to determine who the winner is. Ron Pauls unwavering message of strict constitutional principles and a balanced budget seems to be connecting with many. Ron Paul seems to be appealing to younger voters who like his ideas of no foreign entanglements of war and his idea of not burdening them with massive debt. Of course Ron Pauls attractiveness to some voters, is a turn off to others, as many say they don't like his isolationist views when it comes to protecting Americas interests overseas.

Rick Santorums recent surge in popularity seems to be a combination of Newt Gingrich's fall from grace and the fact that Santorum is viewed as the latest"un Romney" candidate. But this is not to take away the hard work and effort that Rick Santorum has brought into Iowa. His dedicated groundwork is the reason many people in Iowa are beginning to notice him and take note of his conservative stands.

But the polls have also brought to the forefront one very important fact: 44% of the voters polled said they have not made up their minds over who they will vote for. This just adds one more wild card to the race tomorrow.

But while the Republican race has been raging, President Obama has set up 8 campaign offices in Iowa, setting the stage for a showdown later in this battleground state. With billions of PAC dollars ready to be spent by Republicans and Democrats, this years Presidential race will probably be one of the hardest fought campaigns in US history.
