Clint Eastwood masterfully unmasked Obama, but the left missed the subtleties

The left was thrown for a loop last night, when one of their own, (they think EVERYONE in Hollywood is one of their own),  had the temerity to come out on stage in front of a national audience and express his unvarnished opinion about President Obama.

The mystery speaker for the closing night of the GOP convention in Tampa, is now only a mystery to those unsophisticated, humorless pundits on the left.

Clint Eastwood came out on stage at the Republican National Convention last night, in front of millions and had a conversation with an empty chair.  The chair sitting next to him on the dais, (that’s a stage for those on the left) is a common prop used in one man shows in comedy routines as well as lectures and speeches.

Of course for most of those in the Tampa audience and those who have the mental acuity to know these things, the empty chair (with a teleprompter in front of it) had an imaginary President Obama sitting in it.  To many in the US,  it is symbolic of President Obamas leadership. He hasn’t had a budget in 3 years, played more golf than any sitting president in history, but met only once with his council of economic advisers, even though the economy is in dire shape.

But there was a teachable moment which put the spotlight on how some subtleties escape the left.  Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and Al Sharpton , in a post convention wrap up. criticized Clints performance.   Calling it a bizarre performance, saying Clint had lost it and they shouldn’t allow an 82 year old out on stage.  It was almost hysterical to listen to them…Hey you little whiners isn’t that age discrimination?

But of course they were extremely sensitive and aware of any perceived slight that Clint might direct towards any of their herd of sacred cows, bending themselves into pretzel like contortions to find any slight, imaginary or real.

Eastwood said to the audience, “we own this country,” the politicians are our employees and when they don’t do their job, we fire them.”

Now this really got their liberal panties in a wad and one of the hapless trio saw an entitlement mentality message wrapped up in what Clint said….At that point I was actually laughing out loud with incredulity and wondering just who actually watches MSNBC and believes anything emanating from it…My teachable moment was: I actually understood why many in the media refer to MSNBC as MSLSD.

Of course Clint meant that all American citizens own this country, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, etc. and we deserve the best…When we don’t get it, it is time to make a change….If that’s an entitlement mentality, then I want more of it on a massive scale.

Eastwood, praised Romney as a "stellar businessman.  Referring to Obama saying  “it's never a good idea for attorneys to be president.  They are always devil's advocating this and bifurcating this and bifurcating that.  But, I think it is maybe time -- what do you think -- for a businessman.  How about that? A stellar businessman... And I think it's that time.  And I think if you just step aside, Mr. Romney can take over.  You can maybe still use the  plane.”

Of course Eastwood threw away the subtlety and used a sledge hammer a few times like when he said  Joe Biden was the intellect of the Democrat Party.

How, in just a few months, can Clint Eastwood slip from hero down to zero for the left?  They were hailing him as a genius and a hero when he narrated the GM/Obama Super Bowlcommercial extolling the benefits of having a Government Motors.

This morning the cacophony from the left is making my ears bleed as they find ways to criticize Clint Eastwoods ad lib performance…The more they criticize, the more they reveal their ignorance…Go ahead, "make my day."

But the noise on the left is also a smokescreen to hide the fact that speaker after speaker on the RNC stage last night, was a superstar of intellect and accomplishment.....Leading up to to a masterful acceptance speech by Governor Romney.

Israel’s Danny Danon says Irelands Freedom Flotilla was funded by terrorists

The “Freedom Flotillas” that got such widespread coverage in the media the last couple of years as they tried to penetrate an Israeli blockade of Gaza, was linked to terror organizations, according to Israeli leader Danny Danon. Several people were killed during violent confrontations between Israeli forces and Flotilla participants. Flotilla Ships were boarded, commandeered and searched before their contents were allowed passage on to Gaza.

Danon, a powerful and popular Israeli leader, sat down and talked to us on a range of issues.  His rising political power and nationalistic views, will probably be major factors in Israel policy moving forward.

This is part 2 in a 3 part segment:
---------------------------

Parts 1 & 3 of exclusive Danny Danon interview:

Israel's Danny Danon says Washington's lack of leadership speeds Iran towards the bomb

Israel will be energy independent, can America follow their example?

--------------------------
Knowing Israel has vaunted intelligence services, I asked Mr. Danon if he knew who funded the flotillas. Unhesitatingly he replied:  “There was a definite linkage between the flotillas and terrorists organizations.”

Of course one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.

I told Mr. Danon that many people in Ireland are sympathetic towards those they perceive as being occupied or repressed and naturally want to see some settlement to the Gaza and West Bank situation in Palestine/Israel.  Ireland looks at its own occupation by Britain for hundreds of years and sees some comparison to the situation in Gaza, either rightly or wrongly.  We know it is a far more complicated issue, but  perception is key.

Since Irish activists were key in these flotillas and crewed ships such as The Rachel Corrie and  the MV Saoirse, which embarked from Ireland, it was a natural question to ask Danon if he thought Ireland was a base for anti Israel sentiment?

Danon replied: “I don’t think you can label Ireland as anti Israel or a terrorist base.  We have many good friends in Ireland who support us.  So it is not Ireland per se, but a terror threat can emanate from any country and we take measures for our security as needed and necessary, no matter where a threat may emanate from.”

I asked Danon, if Israel had been under the control of a Danny Danon government, would he have reacted any differently to Flotillas trying to penetrate Israel’s security ring around Gaza?

“These flotillas were not seeking any type of humanitarian support, they were seeking confrontation”  I think we should have handled it differently, just like any free and democratic country would have done.  If someone tries to enter your state without permission…You stop him, no matter what.”

He went on:  “Because we were not sure about what we should do, our reaction was not strong enough” As a result our actions encouraged more activities like these, to actually seek confrontation and nothing else.”

Of course you reached out to the UN for support during this time and particularly the United States, your ally.  We noticed that US Ambassador Susan Rice, didn’t bother to show up for the emergency meeting, what gives with that?

“When Ambassador Rice didn’t show up to the emergency meeting on the flotilla, it brought a realization to us that we have to rely only on ourselves.  We know we have the US citizens support, but the White House administration doesn’t understand what we are faced with.”

"The American citizens know who is good and bad.  Israel is being attacked for having the same values as our shared democracies.  Because we are in the neighborhood, we are first to confront the very forces aligned against us and the very existence of the United States."

Part 3 will discuss Israels new bonanza of natural gas and what it means to be not only energy independent but to be a huge exporter of this product.  Will they go all out and exploit this resource, or will they be hamstrung by the same forces who fight Americas energy producers?

Also a glimpse into Israeli gun control laws, are they strict about it? Do they have the same type of gun violence in their country that the US is experiencing?

Israel’s Danny Danon says Washington’s lack of leadership is speeding Iran towards the bomb

Deputy speaker of  the Knesset, Danny Danon, is internationally known as a fearless supporter of Israels new brand of nationalism.  As one of Israel’s chief spokesmen, he gets attention when he gives his opinion on matters affecting Israel and the world. His opinions can be at the center of political firestorms.

I spent time with him discussing a wide range of subjects such as: Irans nuclear threat, Israel’s new found energy independence, the Irish “Freedom Flotilla” and other subjects important to Israel and the rest of the world.

This is part one of a three part interview.
--------------------------

Parts 2 & 3 of exclusive Danny Danon interview

Danny Danon says Israels Freedom flotilla was funded by terrorists

Israel will be energy independent, can America follow their example?

---------------------------
To most Americans and the rest of the world, the Middle East always seems to be on the verge of some sort of cataclysmic event.  But the thought of the crazed leadership running Iran getting their hands on nuclear weapons, would bring that scenario to fruition.

Americans are very uncomfortable with the thought of a nuclear armed Iran and we are thousand of miles away.  Israel, just a few hundred miles away, is highly alarmed at that possibility, since Iran’s leaders have repeatedly said their goal is to “wipe Israel off the map.”

The United States along with other countries, for years have put trade sanctions on Iran designed to bring them to the table and take away their nuclear ambitions.  President Obama, fresh off of receiving his Nobel Peace Prize, thought he could push the reset button with Iran and reason with them on the nuclear issue.

I asked deputy speaker Danon, about the announcement of new sanctions against Iran and do they seem to be having an effect on their desire to get nuclear weapons. He said: “We see a lot of talk, a lot of declarations from Washington, but no leadership.  These sanctions are too little, too late.  If anything, the words from Washington have emboldened Iran to accelerate its engine of development for getting bombs.”

Danon compared President Obamas 2009 Cairo speech to present day difficulties in the Middle East: “The Presidents speech was not connected to the reality on the ground.”  “Everything said, is the opposite of what we now have; No stability, more extreme forces in Egypt and other countries as well.”  Danon went on: “ This area is very dynamic and it takes more than a charismatic speech to change reality.”

The can has been kicked down the road about as far as it can go without taking some defining action before Iran becomes nuclear.  What will Israel do in conjunction with its ally the US?  Danon spoke solemnly with perhaps a bit of sadness:  “Israel can only rely on itself for protection.”  We love the United States, but it is a big country and can possibly tolerate the idea of a nuclear armed Iran.  We are small, we cannot afford to make a mistake, the crucial decisions for our survival are up to us.  If Iran got nuclear weapons, it would be very difficult for Israel to survive.”

To me, that drove the stark reality home of the gut wrenching decisions that leaders are now making.   I felt the future of this country; the hopes, dreams and very survival of millions of people, would hinge on critical life and death evaluations being made now in the most secret of planning rooms.

Dannon remarked on the recent visit by Mitt Romney and the previous visit by Sarah Palin.  He had greeted them both and spent time with them while they stayed in Israel. I asked him if he felt a closer kinship with them because their political leanings.  His reply was: “I stand and support anyone who supports Israel, Democrat or Republican, it makes no difference.  We encourage more to come, because sometimes many of us in Israel feel everyone’s against us.”

I reminded him that the great majority of American’s feel a kinship with Israel and want our government to work together with them. We feel Israel is America’s closest ally in the Middle East. Mr. Danon was very grateful for the support Americans give his country.

If a war does erupt over the Iran nuclear issue, it will be due to a lack of strength shown in our foreign policy.  As history has shown repeatedly, peace is attained through strength and respect, not by empty words and empty threats.

Who was behind the “Peace Flotilla” designed to be confrontational with Israel.  Although many members of the flotilla emanated from Ireland, does Danny Danon think Ireland is a bastion of anti Israel sentiment?

We’ll discuss that issue in the next installment.

Paul Ryan articulates, while Joe Biden gaffes

After one week, Paul Ryan has been spectacular as Mitt Romney's running mate. Ryan, quick out of the starting gate, has engaged in the battle of ideas and has been quick to point out that President Obama's Affordable Healthcare Act, stole 716 billion from Medicare in order to hide the real expenses of his Obamacare.

Ryan's expertise on budgetary matters and his direct likeable personality, has set the Obama campaign back on its heels.  They were in the process of painting Romney/Ryan as heartless to seniors ready to roll Granny off the healthcare cliff, when they got a 100 MPH  Ryan fastball right across the plate.

What's devastating to the Obama campaign is that Paul Ryan knows every little detail in the chicanery used to foist Obamacare on the nation.  Exposing the theft of 716 billion from seniors Medicare, is just the first pitch in this ballgame.

Today Paul Ryan is in front of thousands of cheering seniors at the worlds largest retirement community in Florida.  He introduced his 78 year old mother to the crowd and explained how he wants the best for his mom and the rest of Americas seniors. He pledged that Romney/Ryan will preserve their Medicare and Social Security and will ensure healthcare and retirement security for future generations of Americans.

In stark contrast to Paul Ryan's energetic day, Vice President Joe Biden was at home in Delaware where he was sent by President Obama. Seems Obama political strategists think its best to keep Joe out of the spotlight after a speech designed to fire up racial dissension against Romney/Ryan backfired terribly on Joe and brought unexpected negativity back on Obama/Biden campaign.

Biden tried to taint Romney/Ryan as racially insensitive by inferring their plan to restore fiscal sanity to the nation would put African Americans back in chains. You could hear groans from the mostly black group in Virginia as Biden made the remark.  But to add insult to injury, Biden said the smear with a southern drawl.  Afterwards many American black leaders of all political persuasions expressed outrage at the attempt to try to link Romney/Ryan with chains and slavery.

Of course the usual Democrat spin doctors tried to play it off as just another one of "likeable Joe's" many gaffes, but it looked like he was reading from a prepared speech.  Isn't a gaffe an impromptu slip of speech?

It was clear, Bidens "gaffe" was in response to the huge surge in popularity and energy Paul Ryan brought to the Romney campaign.  Equally clear was how seriously the Obama campaign saw the threat of Ryan's addition to the ticket by their willingness to use the race card. Sadly for them, it boomeranged and exposed them to ridicule.

To further illuminate the desperation the Obama campaign feels after Biden "gaffe," rumors swirled Hillary Clinton had been offered the Vice President spot on the Obama ticket.  The same sources say Hillary turned it down because she is burned out from being Secretary of State and feels it might taint her chances at running for President in 2016....It's all about her.

President Obama, in an attempt to get attention off of Bidens gaffe and dismal economic news, tried to focus attention on Romney's tax returns and making that an issue to muddy the waters. But that ploy seems to be ringing hollow with Americans as they start to look around and notice the Obama/Biden ticket hasn't delivered on the many flowery promises they made back in 2007.

Paul Ryan's articulate explanation of his economic reforms, stand in sharp contrast to Joe Bidens race baiting, insensitive gaffes.

Americans can see a clear choice and will remember this in November.

President Obama better hope he doesn't get cornered by Paul Ryan again

Congressman Paul Ryan is a tough, straight talking man with loads of intelligence. President Obama found this out to his dismay when Ryan was able to confront him on Obamacare —at a bipartisan White House health care summit held in February of 2010.

When Ryan addressed the summit, televised on live TV, he immediately quoted from Obama's speech to a Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009 "I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits -- either now or in the future."

For the next 6 1/2 minutes Ryan calmly yet forcefully exposed Obama and the audience with facts and figures on the Obamacare legislation.  As Ryan went forward dismantling the bill, President Obama had to sit there silently getting confronted with all of the smoke and mirrors that were used to craft Obamacare...It seems, unlike most of the politicians in Washington, Paul Ryan did read every page of the proposed healthcare bill,  before it was passed.

Ryan was well versed and aware of the gimmicks in the bill, the double counting and stealth spending not accounted for, saying "Hiding spending, doesn't stop the spending" and "The bill is full of gimmicks that more than erase the false claim of deficit reduction"

Staring at the President and not backing down, Ryan stated "By removing the Doctor fix in this legislation and ignoring the additional cost does not remove it from the backs of taxpayers." The President shot daggers at Ryan throughout the 6 1/2 minutes but he didn't miss a beat.

Ryan  ended up cuffing aside Joe Biden's earlier comment/gaffe that "legislators weren't qualified to speak on behalf of the American citizens on the healthcare bill," by saying: "We have attended many townhall meetings and listened to the people, they are telling us they don't like this healthcare overhaul."

Paul Ryan has no trepidation standing up to the President and speaking the truth.  That was clearly shown the day of the healthcare summit as President Obama squirmed under Ryan's direct attack on the Obamacare bill.

Congressman Ryan crafted budgets for our country,  have been approved by Congress and received 41 votes in the Senate.  President Obama's budgets received no approval by congress and zero votes in the Senate.  Perhaps the embarrassment of receiving no votes for the Presidents budget is the reason Harry Reid has not allowed a vote in 3 years.

Paul Ryan is young, principled and not afraid of a fight.  He will do well in the debate arena against Joe Biden, on any topic, including foreign policy.  Joe Biden's foreign policy history of being wrong on almost every major decision the country has made in the past 12 years, belies his foreign policy "expertise." Ryan of course can spin circles around Biden on budget issues, easier than he can with Obama.

My advice to President Obama, is to avoid any impromptu debates with Paul Ryan over the next 3 months, unless you want a replay of the healthcare summit.

Richmond refinery fire puts the spotlight on what's wrong with America

The spectacular oil fire at the Chevron refinery in Richmond California, was still burning as cadres of lawyers blanketed the surrounding communities.   Wherever plumes of smoke drifted, you could find a lawyer knocking on doors and handing out cards.

As I watched the spectacle on nationwide TV and web news, it brought me back to the time when a minor bus accident occurred in San Francisco. The bus with no more than 15 passengers on it had a minor collision with a car.  As the passengers exited the disabled bus, they mingled with pedestrians on the sidewalk.  Pretty soon ambulances were dispatched to the scene and over 40 bus “passengers” were taken to local hospitals with assorted neck and back pains.

To be sure, each one of those “passengers” received some sort of settlement from the taxpayers of San Francisco, along with their lawyers.

The Northern California oil refinery at Richmond California has been in its present location for more than 100 years.  Perched next to the San Francisco Bay, it is in an excellent location to receive crude oil from ocean tankers where it can refine the oil into different blends of fuels to be used by consumers.   It is the largest refinery of its kind in this part of California and serves the needs of millions of cars, trucks and airplanes

When the refinery was first built,  it was in an isolated, rural location.  But over the past hundred years San Francisco’s urban sprawl has spread its tentacles around the facility.

But this is just like the story of airports that get built on the outskirts of town eventually getting encased in urban sprawl.  When the occasional accident happens, there are calls for more stringent rules,  the inevitable call for the airport to be shut down, or moved and the prolific lawsuits filed.

But there hasn’t been a new oil refinery built in the United States for the past 30 years.  Environmental lawsuits, not in my back yard mentalities and a PR campaign by the far left to demonize fossil fuels have made it extremely difficult to build new ones.  So America has been at the mercy of fewer refineries to fulfill its growing energy needs and at the mercy of what a lack of competition does for price at the pump.

The entitlement mentality refuses to acknowledge self responsibility; it is a victim mentality looking for a cause and is aided and abetted by those who feed off of it.

Already the Chevron Refinery has set up a facility to process claims by those who say they were injured by the effects of the fire.  But the caveat is that the “victims” have to show they lost work because of the fire or show an expense from a Dr., pharmacy, or some other legitimate loss.

Since air testing showed levels to be healthy in 8 different samples, it is hard to fathom what sort of claims will be made. There was a shelter in place warning sent out to the community immediately when the fire first started. Perhaps some folks in the community lost work hrs. due to that.  No structures outside of the refinery were burned, or damaged, except with the exception of some soot that will have to be cleaned off.  So what possible claims will these pods of lawyers be able to conjure up?

The oil refinery is certainly a fat, juicy, target. The left would love to see it shut down and trial lawyers would love to get a piece of it.  But it is a major employer in the community and the economy of the whole west coast relies on its products.

What is a sure bet though, is hundreds, perhaps thousands of lawsuits will be filed against the refinery and this will cost the company millions in lawyer fees to defend, not to mention the costs if they lose or settle out of court.

No matter what the eventual costs of this fire, the loser in this legal debacle will be the end consumer who pays for fuel in his gas tank, or buys products in the store that uses trucks to transport those goods.

To a normal person who looks at this from a purely logical point of view…Let the lawsuits emanate from those who were living in the area prior to the construction of the oil refinery.  They truly are the ones who wouldn't know there was going to be an oil refinery in the neighborhood they were living in.

There is no reason to be living near an oil refinery to not know they smell and have an occasional fire from time to time.  That is a fact,  if you don't like it, move.

The most secretive of Presidents, Obama, accuses Romney of being secretive

President Obama's surrogates, actively doing his dirty work, have accused Mitt Romney of being secretive because he only released 2 years of his tax returns.  Senate leader Harry Reid, while on the Senate floor even accused Mitt Romney of felonious activity.  Asked by reporters if he has any basis for these accusations.  Reid answered: "An unidentified informant told him."

It's not enough to sully the Senate by making false accusations, but to do it from the Senate floor is pretty low.  As a lawyer Reid knows he has immunity because he made the charges from the floor.

The rest of Obama's trained attack dogs/surrogates, including close associates, David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs made the round of national Sunday news shows, fanning the flames by intimating Romney must have done something wrong because he is hiding those records. Axelrod had previously accused Mitt Romney of being the most secretive presidential candidate since Richard Nixon.

The head of the Republican National Committee, Reince Preibus, said he has had enough of the unsubstantiated attacks and is not going to allow his candidates to be targets without hitting back. On the Sean Hannity show today, Preibus said we (Republicans) are getting punched by these guys with brass knuckles.  We are going to punch back with a bigger set of brass knuckles.

On national TV, Preibus called Senator Harry Reid a dirty liar.  Taken aback, the shocked TV host George Stephanopoulos asked: "Are you sure you meant that?"  Preibus fired back: "I said it didn't I."

But Obama and his surrogates live in an all glass house, although the shades are tightly drawn over many parts of it, it is still glass and susceptible to incoming rock attacks from the GOP.

President Obama didn't receive the scrutiny of his past that other presidential candidates have been subjected to by the main stream media.  As a Democrat, a liberal and the first black presidential candidate, he was treated with kid gloves. Bill Clinton found out the hard way in the Democrat Primaries when he was helping his wife Hillary try to win the nomination.  He complained the race card was used as a weapon against him and that card has been used against political opponents of the 0bama candidacy.  See Bill Clinton: Obama Played Race Card On Me.

So Candidate Obama evaded questions into his background, unlike other candidates who receive a colonoscopy from the press when they run for office.  There are many unanswered questions about him and sealed off parts of his past which should be answered for:

All of President Obama's school records, thesis papers, grades, financial  arrangements for tuition, are sealed shut and not accessible.

While President Obama was a member of the Illinois State Senate, he claims his scheduling records during those years are lost.

All of President Obama's medical records are sealed from public view.

The media never pressed or wanted to delve into:

Obama's longtime and close personal ties to communist Frank Marshall Davis.

Obama Attended the church of Reverend Wright for 20 years who called the United States of KKK America.

His close personal relationship to convicted terrorist bombers/killers Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn.

His longtime association with convicted felon Tony Rezko who played a key role in Obama's purchasing his million dollar property in Chicago.

Something else that is not answered and should be, is Michelle Obama's 300K a year job at a Chicago hospital that magically was created when her husband became Senator. That position ended immediately when Obama won the White house.

Read: Top 10 convicted felons, fugitives and  shady characters in Obamas life.

Additionally, President Obama's recent use of Executive Privilege to seal off the Congressional investigation into Fast and Furious gun running scandal, what is he hiding?

We all know Romney made a lot of money being a brilliant businessman in the private sector, his time at Bain Capital has been well scrutinized.  If anything he seems to be an Eagle Scout morally....if there were skeletons in his closet Obama and his minions would be exploiting them.

Since the Obama presidency has not been successful and there's not much he can brag about as far as accomplishments, he will try to destroy Romney by inferring he has something to hide.  Mitt Romney needs to turn the tables and let the public know just how much of the Obama image is shielded in secrecy.

The Marquess of Queensberry rules are not in effect in this campaign Mitt, the sooner you know that, the better you will be prepared.  I think a more fitting example of what you should expect for rules in this campaign is the famous street brawl scene in the HBO series Deadwood.
