Is the President's credibility on the line in Syria?…Sorry, that was lost long ago

After almost five years of constant assaults on our sense of credibility, President Obama's chickens are coming home to roost…You can tell the end is near when television comedians start to make fun of his and his entire administrations, uneasy relationship with the truth.

Late night television host Jay Leno best summed up Americas feelings with:

“Despite what the critics say, President Obama says the lack of response to Syria so far does not threaten his credibility. And you know something? He's right. The economy, Benghazi, the spying scandal... that threatens his credibility, but this other stuff...no.”

Not only are Americans burned out by President Obamas chronic “misspeaks” and "Clintonesque" statements that require a legal definition of what the meaning of is, is…..

.......Americas sense of credibility has been assaulted by almost five years of White House underlings telling us not to believe our own lying eyes, but to believe the Obama administration.  

Stuttering and yammering professional spin doctors pose as White House press spokesmen, never giving a straight answer to questions asked.…the list stretches interminably.

But eventually the piper has to be paid for years of evading and when the President proclaimed,  just before the last election, Syria better not cross his “Red Line” by using chemical weapons, he unwittingly painted himself into a box.

His words came back to haunt him as chemical agents have been used in Syria to kill and disable.

The problem for President Obama is not so much that these chemicals have been used, but WHO is using them.The death toll in this civil war is over 100,000, chemical weapons have accounted for a miniscule amount of these deaths.

President Obama claims it is the evil regime of Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria who is gassing his own people in this vicious civil war. But Assad and his chief ally, Russias President Vladimir Putin, claim it is the rebels themselves who are using chemical weapons.

President Obama and Secretary of state John Kerry, who himself has a long history of stretching credibility, both claim Assads regime needs to be degraded as punishment for using chemical weapons, which would give a boost to the rebels who are fighting for control of the country. 

But Americans have taken a hard look at just who the rebels are in Syria and they don’t like the brutal images they are seeing. Jihadists from all over the world, including Al Qaeda, swell rebel ranks. See graphic video of Syrian "rebels" executing captured government hostages here.

Many in America wonder why we would be supporting the very forces who are intent on destroying America and western civilization? 

Americans are also leery of past foreign policy decisions by President Obama that opened the door for Muslim Brotherhood control of Egypt and by helping to kill the leader of Libya, plunged that once orderly country into Islamic chaos.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, no stranger to Islamic extremism,  has called secretary of State Kerry a liar.  Putin claims he has proof the rebels have used chemicals against the Syrian people in order to inflame animosity towards Assad.

So it is coming down to who are we supposed to believe? …and that is the crux of President Obamas problem as he asks Congress to approve his use of American military force against the Assad regime.

"Fool us once, shame on you, fool us twice, shame on us."

It is a sad state of affairs that Americans can no longer believe what their government  tells them anymore…and a leader of a former communist country and head of the KGB, has equal credibility with the White House.

Evidently congress is feeling the same after listening to Obama administration officials plea their case in front of them. Skeptical members of Congress asked scathing questions without regard to party affiliation.  A straw poll today reflected that feeling with 190 congress members saying they would vote against the president’s request.

Of course, typically,  President Obama is trying to deflect this and claim it is the international community who set the red line, but unfortunately for President Obama, there are video tapes of his now infamous statement claiming it was his red line…..confirming what our own lying eyes and ears already knew.

Would US foreign aid be better spent in Ireland, rather than Egypt where it supports a new Islamist dictator?

 Egypt’s new President (for life?), Mohammed Morsi, riding the afterglow of  huge praise from President Obama and Hillary Clinton for his role in ending 8 days of hostility in Gaza, leveraged that glow to seize dictatorial powers over his countrymen.

Morsi a leader of the  Muslim Brotherhood, which is tied closely to the United States mortal enemy, Al Quaeda, has been aggressively seizing power since he gained office by winning a democratic election 52-48.

On Thursday he issued constitutional amendments that placed him above judicial oversight & extended that same immunity to a committee drafting a new constitution for the country that many say has been hijacked by Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood allies.  Morsis’s critics say he is trying to push through an Islamist state that will marginalize women and minority Christians, infringing on personal liberties.

"Morsi today usurped all state powers & appointed himself Egypt's new pharaoh," pro-reform leader Mohamed El Baradei wrote. "This is a major blow to the revolution that could have dire consequences."

The last time Hillary Clinton visited Egypt, her motorcade was pelted with tomatoes by Egyptians who felt they have been sold out by the Obama administration.  These Egyptian citizens feel the Obama administration let Egypt fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood, an arch enemy of democracy and the western worlds way of life.

But since the pelting of Hillary’s motorcade several months ago, the Obama administration has showered millions of dollars on the Morisis government in spite of his dictatorial moves and his aggressive disregard of previous peace agreements with neighboring country, Israel.

Many Americans think “foreign aid” should be based on the carrot and the stick approach.  Regardless of the fact that America is broke, it still borrows money and prints it in order to dole out foreign aid. So lets help our friends, so they can help us.

This foreign aid money should have strings attached…It seems we have exchanged a previous dictator, who was friendly towards us, for a new dictator who is not friendly towards us or our close ally Israel. What kind of madness is this?

We are showering Egypt with billions of dollars; in fact Hillary just authorized giving the Morsi government 450 million in emergency funds on the heels of the just completed cease of hostilities in Gaza. Despite the fact Egypt has total control over weapons smuggled into Gaza and Hamas.

We should take the billions we are now sending to a country hostile to our civilization and spread it to a country that is a friend.   A true democracy; giving foreign aid to Ireland on the scale we are giving it to Egypt would be like pouring Miracle Grow on a flower garden.

Blessed with a highly educated and motivated population, funds could be used to set up manufacturing facilities, hi-tech development, spur energy independence and create an economic powerhouse/ strong ally in line with western values.

The foreign aid could have strings attached.  Perhaps one of those strings could be to give the people of Ireland and Northern Ireland the chance to vote for a united republic. 26+6=32. 

Even the late British American Christopher Hitchens was in favor of a United Ireland and surprised many when he publicly voiced that opinion.

Governor Huckabee compares Libyan cover up to Watergate & Lewinsky scandals

Most transparent of administrations?

Governor Mike Huckabee, spoke on Fox News this morning and opined on the unfolding Libyan embassy scandal.  The attack which killed our ambassador and 3 other Americans is turning out to be nothing like the administration has been telling the public for the weeks following the attack.

The Governor said something very important, touching upon a core principle of our republic: “The uniqueness of our country says that government serves us, they can’t serve us when they are not honest with us.” 

He went on to say:

"Nixon resigned because he got caught lying. Clinton was impeached because he lied.  The cataclysmic events that happened to Clinton and Nixon, were not because of the transgressions themselves, but they lied about the cover up.  But in their cases no one died."

"But facts bear out we have been blatantly lied to by our leaders about the attack on our Libyan Embassy. President Obama and his administration has knowingly been untruthful with the American public."

The Governor clarified his position by saying “I am not demanding impeachment, but I am suggesting the American people demand the real truth.”

Facts show this administration know it was a terrorist attack almost immediately, they even knew who some of the suspects were.  The attack had nothing to do with the cheesy anti Islamic video, like his underlings tried to convince us of.

This administration sent the press secretary and its UN Ambassador out to deliberately deceive the public. 

Huckabee said: "If we held Nixon and Clinton to standards of honesty, why don’t we hold this President to the same standards?"

There is a pattern of denial by the Obama administration and it shows they want to ignore there is Islamic terrorism being waged against us.

During the Fort Hood Texas shooting, Major Hassan killed 14 fellow service members as he chanted an Islamic prayer.  The administration is still calling this a workplace violence incident.  There are many other similar incidents pock marking the history of this administration.

To further  dispute the administrations version of the Libyan Embassy attack was just a “spontaneous event,” yesterday it was learned the FBI agents sent to Libya two weeks ago have not been able to visit the consulate.…Why?  Because the area is too dangerous.

"If you lie to your boss expect to get fired….If you lie to the American people, you should get fired."

The American people deserve to hear the truth from their leader

Democrats threw God and Israel under the Obama campaign bus, then got second thoughts

 Obama's Canadian manufactured campaign bus had more company under its crowded undercarriage.  Joining Reverend Wright, Officer Crowley, ACORN, Poland, Van Jones, David Patterson and Grandmother Dunham, were two new additions, God and Israel…. It’s getting grisly under there.

Surely the Democrats who crafted this years political platform, must have known someone would notice they erased all mention of God in the Democrat mission statement, besides members of their targeted special interest groups they sought to appease.  In their zeal to placate atheists, agnostics, the environmentalists and the rest of the secular humanist movement, they probably estranged a huge percentage of Americans who believe in God …But perhaps the crafters of the democrat road map prayed it wouldn’t be noticed by those who would take offense at the absence of God in their platform?

But the awkward and inconvenient truth hidden in the document didn’t escape the hawk eye of Fox News anchor Bret Baier, who confronted Illinois Senator Dick Durbin during an interview yesterday. Durbin, clearly on the defensive when asked why, after years of having God mentioned in the Democrat platform, is this years platform devoid of the Deity’s name?

Durbin chose to turn the argument around and attack Baier and claim it was only a word left out, no big deal…”Nothing to see here now move along.”  But veteran newsman Baier isn’t one to be intimidated by a bloviating Senator and persisted in asking the question.  Durbins final answer was a belligerent, bizarre, nonsensical answer, that was a non answer.

The truth is, and Durbin and the rest of his party know it, leaving God out of the Platform would be offensive to many Americans and there is no way to squirm out of it.

As if to drive home the point the new Democrat party is going into a radical new direction and jettisoning old friends, the platform was devoid of mention that Jerusalem is the recognized capital of Israel.  Perhaps this was done to pick up the Muslim/anti Israel vote, with the calculation American Jewish voters will vote Democrat anyway, as they seem captivated by the Stockholm Syndrome.

Leaving out Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, further drove a public wedge between Obama and our ally Israel, at a most critical time for the Obama campaign. My recent interview with Israels Danny Danon magnified the feelings Israeli leadership has towards the Obama administration.  They say Obamas failure to provide strong leadership in the Mideast, jeopardizes their nations security. 

But later this afternoon, the Democrats quickly reinserted God and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, back into their platform. The news announced on the floor of the Charlotte convention was met with a chorus of boos.  But the guess is that those boos, were tiny compared to the sighs of relief from Democrat leaders who know what the majority of voting Americans still hold dear to them. 

Those Americans would have been very willing to express dissatisfaction with this “new party” in November if the platform wasn’t restored. But even though restorations were made, there are other troubling positions in the platform that alienate many traditional Democrats. The attempt to take God and the backing of Israel out of the platform might have been the last insult to push them away from the party.

President Obama declares himself King and changes immigration policy

President Obama decided to arbitrarily change our immigration policy when he signed an executive order  bypassing existing law. 

 If America is going to change it's immigration laws, it must be done with the cooperation of all branches of our government.

Yes Mr. President, you and others in Congress wanted to pass an amnesty law known as the Dream Act.  But it never made it through that pesky Congress the American people voted in to represent them.  But just because Congress didn't pass a law that you wanted enacted,  doesn't give you the power to flaunt the will of the people and snub them by signing an "executive order."

President Obama stated in a speech several months ago that the existing law and constitution prevents him from making changes to our immigration law.   Our country is a constitutional republic with 3 separate but equal branches of government, law needs to be approved by all 3. Evidently President Obama woke up this morning, looked at his falling poll numbers and decided to be King.
Being king is much more convenient and less messy than being a President.

Yes America has an illegal immigration problem because our borders are porous and our existing laws are being ignored. The motives behind this are many, but one glaring reason is that it is being done for political purposes.
                                                                                                                                 
At a time when unemployment rate among American citizens is said to be in the 14% range, it is an insult to those struggling financially and out of work, to give as many as a couple of million here in the United States illegally, legal status.  They will compete for the few precious jobs available and further burden our social systems. 

This "back door, on the path to amnesty" signed by executive order, is a dangerous precedent for our country.  Congress and the rest of America need to stand up and tell President Obama, he is not the king.

This country was explicitly founded on the notion that we don't have royalty, we rejected it in 1776 and we reject it now in 2012.

Obamacare faces the light of day in Supreme Court

Back in early 2010, then Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Congress, they would get to find out what's in the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, after they passed it.  No need to ask any questions now regarding the pesky details and small print in the over 2700 pages of legalese. Just vote yes for it, trust us and you will be pleasantly surprised.

For those legislators saying they couldn't vote if  there were any provisions for abortion or abortion drugs, they were promised drugs/procedures would not be in it.  For those politicians that said they couldn't vote for it if its cost was over a trillion dollars, they were promised it was a bargain at only 987 billion. For those politicians that said they couldn't support this legislation if it increased taxes, they were promised there would be no new taxes, there might be some "fees". Just vote for the bill and all will be taken care of.

Then there were those politicians who said they needed a little something "extra," a little "sweetener," if they were going to put their stamp of approval on Obamacare.  We were treated to a new term, called the Cornhusker Kickback, a concession a Nebraska Senator wrenched out of the deal makers that basically let the rest of America pay for Nebraskans health care. 

Then of course we were treated to the Louisiana Purchase, part deux, which saw Louisiana get an unfair advantage granted to it at the expense of the rest of America in order to insure an aye vote for Obamacare.

The above deals were struck and countless other deals were buried in the 2,700 pages of legislation that were withheld from lawmakers & the public until the last moment before a vote was taken on it.  Nancy Pelosis admonition still ringing in our ears: "You'll get to see what's in Obamacare after you pass Obamacare"

Well it's been over 2 years since the legislation has passed and to this day it is still unclear what is actually buried in those 2,700 pages, it's as if no one actually read all of it in it's entirety.  It does seem to be a living breathing document in some instances, almost a situational handbook to change and interpret as conditions dictate.

But a few things we have found out is that after 2 years, the price for Obamacare is double what we were  told it would be. We also found out there are provisions for abortion procedures/drugs which many were promised would not be in there.  Nancy Pelosi was asked if she thought the legislation was constitutional and she seemed to act surprised.  Had she even not read all of the 2,700 pages?

Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, who had said he was firmly against the legislation, until he was enticed to vote for it with a sweetener called Cornhusker Kickback, found it ended his political career and he is now spending "more time with his family" 

2010 saw a backlash against legislators who had voted for Obamacare.  Many of these politicians were thrown out of office by angry constituents who didn't trust their legislators for not reading a bill before voting on it. Obamacare became a rallying point for many Americans to focus their ire on. Obamacare helped spawn the American Tea party, part deux.

26 states and private organizations sued the government in order to repeal this legislation on the grounds it was unconstitutional and violated commerce laws as well as the right of Americans not to be forced to pay for a service.

Finally this week the Supreme Court got to hear arguments pro and con for Obamacare.  By listening to the tone the Justices used to grill the Obama administration lawyers, it was obvious they had problems with the premise of the bill.  The solicitor General himself seemed to be having a very difficult time justifying the large intrusive reach of the government into Americans lives.

If the Supreme Court strikes down the law in its entirety, it will be an opportunity to start over in modifying our health care system in a bi partisan manner. Many major reforms were overlooked in the rush to pass ACA/Obamacare. If the court strikes down only parts of the bill, it may bankrupt the health insurance system.  Many are waiting for the verdict...Many political careers hang in the balance.

Americans want the 2nd Amendment under their Christmas Tree

Gun sales are breaking records throughout America as Christmas approaches. Is it just the holiday spirit of giving that is spurring these sales? Or is it Americans realization that gun ownership is the last line of defense in self protection?

Either way, the FBI has been flooded with record breaking numbers of requests for background checks from gun dealers. Gun dealers are required to send these forms in to the FBI when customers purchase a firearm. In some states citizens are not allowed to walk out of the store with a new weapon at time of sale, there is a several day waiting period.

Many existing firearm owners and new owners are expressing concern that the government may start to clamp down on gun ownership rights by attacking the 2nd Amendment to the constitution, which guarantees their right to own and bear firearms.

Coincidentally the current volume of gun sales broke the previous record sent in 2008, the first year of the Obama administration. President Obama and Attorney General Eric holder have both expressed opinions that firearm sales are too lax and need to have heavier regulation.

Interestingly, the unfolding gun running scandal known as "Fast and Furious" may have had a secret motive behind it to show a need for stricter controls. A Congressional investigation is ratcheting up to determine just who authorized the scheme and why. But as a result of Fast and Furious, Mexico via Arizona, was flooded with dangerous weapons which fell into the hands of criminals and drug cartels. These illegal firearms have been responsible for thousands of deaths.

But if the intent of F & F was to tighten gun sales, it looks as if it has backfired. Americans are now buying more weapons, possibly as the result of Fast and Furious. The statistics behind the new gun purchasers in the United States show an interesting cross section of who these purchasers are.

Women seem to be purchasing guns in greater numbers, either for self protection or sport purposes. It bears out the trend that women are breaking stereotypes in yet another area that was once a domain of men; gun ownership. This could stem from a variety of cultural reasons, including that women are living alone and want self protection. Women are also enjoying outdoor firearm sports in growing numbers, such as target shooting and hunting.

Other new gun owners seem to be young professionals and young families seeking the security of having a firearm in their home for self protection. Instead of putting their faith in 911 as their last line defense of home and family, this new wave of gun owners is putting their faith in 9mm/.380 and .45 instead.

The National Rifle Association, the worlds largest gun advocacy organization, estimates there are 80 million gun owners in the United States...and the number is growing. This is a disturbing trend to those on the left who would like to see gun laws modeled after many European countries, severely curtailing gun ownership. Of course you must judge this thinking with the same desire of the left who want to model our economic system after Europe. How's that working out for you?

America is not Europe, as evidenced by immigration of an overwhelming number of people over the years moving from Europe to the freedoms that America offers. One of those freedoms is the right to bear arms. But along with that right comes the responsibility of practicing safe gun ownership AND keeping an eye on a government that wants to take your rights away.

Obama's green energy policies make America vulnerable to terrorism

Oil first at sea

President Obama's decision to shelve the Keystone oil Pipeline project until after the Presidential elections, comes at the same time of news Iran is on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons. The "decision" showed that this vital step in keeping our nation protected from outside threats to our energy supply, is based on politics, rather than what is best for our country.

Israel, the vowed target for annihilation by Iranian President Achmadenajad, has been said to be making preparations to defend itself. These preparations would include proactive and pre-emptive strikes on Iran's known nuclear facilities. Iran has already stated that if it is attacked, it would strike back at not only Israel, but American and world interests in the most devastating way.

The most devastating way for Iran to harm the west, is to choke off the most vital oil exporting route in the world, the Strait of Hormuz. Iran sits on the narrow choke point where 40% of the worlds seaborne oil must pass and that's Iran's hole card in this dangerous card game. By mining the strait, sinking supertankers with missiles or submarines, Iran would send the worlds oil prices skyrocketing. This would push the already teetering world economy over the cliff, including America.

Since our past and present policies have made us so dependent on imported oil, it would be easy to see world oil prices soar to 200-300-400 per barrel, if the turbulent middle east exploded in conflict....So why doesn't the administration link this real and present danger with energy policies
that would help shield us from this threat?

With the energy sword of Damocles poised over our heads, President Obama and his Energy Department idealogues, seem bent on leaving us vulnerable to energy terrorism. Last week, besides nixing the Keystone Pipeline, the Administration announced it's 2012-2017 Offshore Drilling Plan. Unfortunately it looks as if the administration continues to ignore our fossil fuel energy resources. Said Rep. Doc Hastings, chairman of the powerful House Natural Resource Committee: "This plan takes some of the worlds most promising energy resources off limits."

Even in Alaska where there are huge proven oil reserves and infrastructure in place to tap it, red tape and permitting processes retard those efforts. Shell Oil paid 2.1 billion for leases in 2008 and they have yet to drill an exploratory well due to lawsuits and permit delays.

Not only is America suffering needlessly by being deprived of it's massive amounts of energy, Americans are desperately seeking jobs in this cruel economy. President Obama had a golden opportunity to help his country achieve energy independence, create thousand even millions of jobs and protect his country's national security by creating a network to help us become energy self sufficient. But President Obama chose to vote present on these opportunities and the nation will be at peril because of it.

In the meantime, no amount of windmills and solar panels will even begin to replace the energy that can be produced by our own natural reserves of coal, oil and natural gas. Looks like we will be getting Solyndra type scandals in our energy pipeline, rather than the real energy that powers Americas economy.

Now President Obama tells Greece to eat their peas

Nobel Prize winning President Obama, is at the G20 summit in France. The main topic of this summit is how to keep afloat the EU by bailing out the poster child for out of control entitlements, Greece. He told the Greeks they must eat their peas, just like he lectured Americans many months ago. Note to President Obama: The peas diet doesn't seem to be having an effect, as the economy continues to stagnate.

As we take a look at the Greek model for economics, their GDP is eaten up by entitlements and big government. It seems that is exactly where America is headed since we are now borrowing 40 cents for every dollar spent. How can President Obama give economic advice, or tell another country to eat its peas when his economy is so upside down?

Furthermore, in order to fund a bailout, for out of control spending Greece, out of control spending America, will have to borrow that money from China, or print it. Just doesn't make sense in a clear headed, far from Washington, right side up world. Where do they get these economists? Certainly not from the private sector.

In the meantime in the cradle of democracy, Greece Premiere Papandreou promised a popular vote for his citizens for proposed austerity measures, but he has abruptly withdrawn that offer. Seems he will be making that decision himself along with the rest of his socialist government. Maybe it was because he could read the graffiti on the wall: Greek citizens don't seem too keen on belt tightening. Athens streets resembled downtown Madison Wisconsin, or "Occupy Oakland", as town squares filled with angry hysterical mobs looking for someone to blame & someone else's belt to tighten.

But in America, a new insult has been added to the injured citizens. It was just revealed that executives of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are receiving multi million dollar bonuses, even though these quasi government entities are losing billions. Also revealed, bankrupt solar company, Solyndra, the benificiary of over half a billion dollars in government loans, was also gifting it's executives with bonuses. Who's guarding our financial chicken coop?

President Obama should take quick action before he lectures anyone else on austerity because this doesn't look good during these harsh economic times.
