Rule # 1: Always make sure you pay the guys with the guns

President Obama should have read the White house manual the first day he became President, it would have avoided some unpleasant experiences for him.

For instance on page 27B:

Take note: Don't plant vegetable in the White house garden. Tainted soil was imported that contained lots of heavy metals. It will make those veggies unhealthy for those that eat them and when you donate them to the local food bank it will create negative publicity for you.

Page 15:

When you have Whitehouse parties inviting all of your friends and friends of friends, make sure your gatekeeper thoroughly checks the guest list to keep gate crashers away. The resulting embarrassment to your security detail and evident lack of precaution will show the incompetency of your party planner, who usually happens to be your political confidante.

Page 10

Certain doors in the Whitehouse are always locked, don't look like a fool walking down the hallway trying many locked doors. Remember there are always press cameras recording your every move.....You wouldn't want to look like Bush fumbling at locked doors.

But Page 1, first paragraph, first sentence, first rule:

Always pay the guys with the guns!

The very main rule that leaders from the beginning of time learned: Pay your centurions, your soldiers, your Praetorian guard, your armies...first. Keep them happy, they are the ones defending the borders, fighting our enemies in distant lands....and keeping you in power.

As Washington fights to get LAST YEARS BUDGET PASSED, the rhetoric and silliness gets ratcheted up as the deadline looms and possible government shutdown seems inevitable.

The same tried and true doomsday sound bytes emanate from the left: Republicans want to starve old people. Children will be shoeless, homeless and uneducated. Women will have NO healthcare. Civil Rights will be a thing of the past. The Ku Klux Klan will be burning down black churches....and oh yes, there really is a monster hiding in your closet.

In the past these scare tactics usually created a firestorm of paranoia in the lefts base and spurred the main stream media to bring out their fear mongering cannons to brand the right as heartless, soulless ghouls, only interested in filling their pockets with gold.

The truth is that America is getting hardened to these scare tactics and have seen them before.
Americans know that there has to be some sanity restored to the budget and it will be painful to do it.

The Republicans offered a stop gap budget resolution to Obama and the Senate, to avoid a government shutdown. It would extend a continual resolution to fund the government for one more week and most importantly, it would guarantee uninterrupted pay for our military personnel for the rest of the year.

Obama said he will not agree to this measure and would rather let the government shut down and this means no pay for the military, rather than compromise. Obama is putting pressure on the Republicans to cave in on the budget. Is it because he doesn't want to have to cancel a planned trip to Williamsburg?

As we are hours away from a looming government shut down, Obama will be heading towards waters that have proven to be treacherous for leaders of the past.

When Dennis the Menace, Damien and Problem Child conspire

Mrs. brown instinctively knew mischief was brewing when she saw those three sitting under her cherry tree the other day. She just knew there would be consequences for the neighborhood as she closed, locked and bolted her door.

I felt exactly like Mrs. Brown when I saw Senators: John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman all together in one spot doing a news interview. I knew something would be brewing and it wouldn't be good for us. To add a bit more Beelzebub to the picture, Chuck Schumer was hovering in the background.

For McCain and Graham, both with years before they have to face the voters again, this would be the time to turn their backs on campaign pledges and morph into the rinos we have come to know over the years. Joe Lieberman has already said he is not running for office after his term is up, so he has no one to answer to and nothing to lose.

The possibilities are endless with these three, as over the years they have proven to be unreliable, by faking right, but going left and faking left but going right (in Liebermans case).

With repercussions of elections behind them, they are free to vote on blanket illegal alien amnesty, more leftist judges appointed to the bench, (God forbid) more campaign finance "reform" and take a hard look at the news media see if a bit of "fairness doctrine" would help the problem out.

Will the resultant compromises result in 30 pieces of silver for an aircraft carrier called SS McCain? Doubling funds to Israel? Lowering tobacco taxes? A new Washington monument of some sort?

What's it going to be? What's it going to cost us? Mrs. Brown wants to know.

Illegal voters may be tipping the balance of power in America.

Americans are getting assaulted on all sides and not getting much protection from the government that was set up to protect and defend them back in 1781.

This present government seems to put the protection and defense of its borders against illegal immigration into the background. It seems willing to welcome and tacitly encourage illegal immigration. But most disturbingly, seems to aid and abet, passively and aggressively, their ability to vote illegally in the very elections that keep this government in power.

These actions seem counter-intuitive for a strong country to survive.

If one looks at the close elections around this country, on the local, state and national level, you can see that many of the races were and are very close, some separated by just a few votes.

The House is having a study on the elections systems in our country and just issued the following statement: “We simply cannot have an electoral system that allows thousands of non-citizens to violate the law and vote in our elections. We must do more to protect the integrity of our electoral processes."

Colorado IDENTIFIED 12,000 illegal voters on its rolls and ascertained that 5,000 of them voted in the last election. The Republican Senate candidate was narrowly defeated by the Democrat....But how many illegal voters didn't they identify?

Minnesota saw the election of ultra liberal Senator Al Franken, when he narrowly defeated Norm Coleman by just a few votes. Many claim that a lot of the Franken votes were under suspicious circumstances.

California lost a conservative congressman when his district was flooded with illegal alien votes. He was replaced with liberal Democrat, Loretta Sanchez.

Many states are starting to realize that they have been under assault by illegal voters and are starting to examine their voter requirements. But any changes to I.D. requirements and tightening up security to ensure only U.S. citizens vote, seem to be fought tooth and nail by the Democrats, under the banner of preserving some sort of "rights". Is it a right to vote illegally in our elections?

For instance the Texas legislature just voted to require picture I.D. of voters when they show up at the election booths. You would think it was a sledge hammer blow to "civil rights" when you heard the emotional outbursts from the democrats.

The caterwauling from the left is off the charts and unreasonable when a simple requirement like requiring I.D. to vote in an election is enforced. It is most disturbing to American citizens who hold their right to vote as precious. Americans of all races, creeds and political parties are starting to see through and see the mockery made of our election laws.

As a south Texas legislator just said: "I've had many citizens tell me that they don't believe their vote will count anymore because of the fraud that exists in South Texas"....This is just one state!

It doesn't take much to tip the scales of power. America better wake up and smell the ballots because they are rancid. Time to cleanse our voter rolls.

Additional information on the mysterious Minnesota Senate race from the Wall Street Journal:

"This helps explain why more than 25 precincts now have more ballots than voters who signed in to vote. By some estimates this double counting has yielded Mr. Franken an additional 80 to 100 votes."

The disgraced and disbanded group ACORN, was involved in the registration of 42,000 "voters" in the Minnesota election that saw Al Franken win by 312 votes.

Can a "Passionate Conservative" be elected President?

OK we had a "Compassionate Conservative", with President Bush for 8 years and saw the results of that. Is it now time to experiment with a "Passionate Conservative"?

Our compassionate conservative president seemed to have a big heart when it came to increasing government size and programs, which resulted in increasing our debt. Of course a lot of this was done under the guise of having been attacked on 911, national defense, gearing up with TSA, etc.

Perhaps President Bush thought he could get a consensus of people behind him by using "compassion" as a campaign slogan?

The Bush Presidency lead to Obamas "Hope and Change". This has brought us government debt and spending on steroids and an ever larger and more intrusive government. Even though "Hope and Change" was done under the guise of middle of the road leanings, looking through the rear view mirror it is plain to see that we have been thrust very left by this President.

So is America ready for a "Passionate Conservative" as President?

Newt Gingrich has been making the rounds of the talk shows and doing all of the "right" things in order to lay the groundwork for a run at the Presidency. But one of the main sticking points on the Gingrich resume' was his unfaithfulness while married to wives 1-2.

Gingrich himself claimed in an oblique sort of way that his passion for his country lead him to passion in other areas of his life...Er, OK. But maybe if you just spoke plainly, admitted you were a cad and didn't try to dress it up as some sort of patriotism, it would have sat better with the rest of us.

The bottom line is that Gingrich is a brilliant historian as well as a policy wonk, who knows how to balance a budget and with his razor keen wit, would be a formidable opponent in any debate. His brilliance would lead the country out of the mess we are in.

If he was a liberal, the philandering wouldn't even create a yawn in the press or his electorate.

But Gingrich is a conservative and in the eyes of the main stream media he will be judged by a higher standard.

As Bill Clinton summed it up when one of his political appointees was under fire: "character doesn't matter, what matters, is can he do the job"

It will be interesting to see if America is ready for a passionate conservative as their next leader.

"Hot Mic" shows it's all about politics and not our country

The "hot mic" syndrome struck again when Senator Schumer exposed the callous attitude politicians have towards the future of our country. While the leadership is spending money like drunken sailors (sorry sailors) on shore leave, they give us the impression they are trying to restore fiscal sanity.

Before a conference call to be attended by Democrat leaders and the press, Schumer made sure they had their stories straight before the press got on the phones...Only problem is the press was already on, listening and recording every word.

His talking points relayed to his fellow Democratic senators were to tell the reporters that the GOP is refusing to negotiate. Schumer "told the group to make sure they label the GOP spending cuts as 'extreme.' "Because that is what the caucus (democrats) instructed me to do last week".

Never mind that we are borrowing money to run this bloated government, never mind we are heaping extraordinary debt on ourselves and our children and grandchildren....It's all about win baby!

Of course the Republicans ran with this and said it exposed the attitude of the democrats that" any cut in the budget was extreme" and the democrats want to shut the government down as it will make the Republicans look bad".

In the meantime, the guy that Obama charged with getting this budget together and working with both sides to find a budget solution, VP Joe Biden...is busy skiing in Aspen Colorado.

Lets stop the game playing and balance the budget. Because right now you are heaping so much debt that the next generations of Americans will be paying for the "services" that we are getting today.

The present political power structure in charge of our country, don't care what they do to the future, they only care about the next election, they are "economic child abusers" of the worst sort.

Some "evil corporations" are more equal than others in liberal land.

Despite $14.2 billion in worldwide profits - including more than $5 billion from U.S. operations -
GE did not pay a dime in taxes in 2010.

Obama said: "Those with accountants or lawyers to work the system can end up paying no taxes at all. It makes no sense. It has to change." But in typical Obama fashion of saying one thing and doing the exact opposite, in January Obama named General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to head the President's economic advisory board focused on job creation.

In 2 years Jeff Immelt has laid off over 20,000 GE workers in the US and closed it's light bulb manufacturing operations in the U.S. All GE light bulbs (federally mandated) will now be manufactured in China. Last year Immelt was paid over 21 million.

Now Obama has put Immelt in charge of job creation in the US. This is a guy who has demonstrated his ability to cut jobs, not create them.

We are waiting to hear the outcry, marches in the streets, anarchists lighting torches condemning evil rich corporations....I am listening, but not a peep.

Just like in George Orwells Animal Farm, where all animals are equal, although some animals are "more equal" than others. It appears we have that same double standard when it comes to the left wing. The condemnation & mantra of greedy corporations not paying their "fair share", goes silent when it is one of their own greedy corporations.

In the meantime, in Illinois, one of the states largest private sector employers, with over 23,000 employees, is considering leaving the state.
It’s been a tough year for Caterpillar Tractor. First they found out that Obamacare would cost them $100 million in one quarter. Then earlier this year the liberal Illinois governor raised taxes on Illinois businesses including Caterpillar.

Are Caterpillar tractors going to have the "made in China" logo on them too?

Sarah Palin in a stroke of symbolism makes strong impressions in Israel and India.

During her recent trip, Sarah Palin declared to the Indian people and the world that "it's time for a woman to be president of the USA".

India is a great backdrop for the speech since it was the first major democracy to elect a woman as it's Prime Minister. Also and just as important, it stressed that Sarah Palin and her allies regard India as a first tier friend.

After her speech she fielded many questions from the Indian press and answered their questions in a "direct and forthright way". Asked why Obama won, she quipped "I wasn't at the top of the ticket, remember?

Then to reinforce her symbolism, Sarah and her husband Todd flew to Israel, another great democracy and firm ally of the United States. They stayed with the popular Conservative Prime Minister, Bebe Netanyahu and his wife Sara.

During their stay in Jerusalem, they toured a few of the historical sites with MK Dannon who said, paraphrasing: "When we toured near the Kotel and in the tunnels near the Holy of Holies, Governor Palin told me "clear things without hesitating". " She asked why do we apologize to the Muslims? She understands the importance of the place for the Jewish People, there is great support and I felt it in the tour yesterday."

Israel, the only real representative democracy in the middle east, is where the first woman Prime Minister in that part of the world was elected, their beloved Golda Meir. She was their guiding light and firm captain as she inspired the country through it's early days of conflict and triumph. The vow of "never again" still freshly burned in her soul.

In this short trip Governor Palin was able to accomplish much. She visited and made strong bonds with two of the worlds greatest democracies, who the Obama administration seems to be pushing aside. She also set the stage for America to elect a new President....Whoever she may be.
