Man plans, the Gods laugh

As the nuclear meltdown unfolds, those first words uttered by the ancient Irishman, are as true today as they were those thousands of years ago....as he raised his fist to the sky saying, why!

With a shift of her foot, Mother Nature caused massive destruction to the most earthquake aware society in the world. Japan has always had major earthquakes and constructs it's buildings to the highest standards, the envy of the world when it comes to earthquake preparedness.

The nuclear reactor facilities were engineered to withstand an 8.0 on the Richter scale, that is a major major earthquake. Only problem is, the earthquake that just hit was a 9.0, a thousand times stronger than an 8.0.

Then Mother Nature decided to throw a real tantrum and sent in a Tsunami.(Tsunami means tidal wave in Japanese, so they know what they are) Problem: Evidently the experts who designed the reactors to be earthquake proof and built them at the edge of the ocean, forgot to consider 30' tall tsunamis that could wash over them and wipe out their back up systems in the event of an earthquake.

Six thousand miles away and many hours after the Tsunami hit Japan and ricocheted towards the California coast, I happened to be standing near a small harbor along the California coastline.

The first thing I noticed was the water getting sucked out of the harbor at the speed of the fastest river. It roiled up the harbor bottom and spit out mud, fish and debris into the sea where hundreds of seagulls had a feast. Then there was an eerie calm and the water rushed back into the harbor at a terrific rate rocking boats and causing havoc.

At about the same time this was happening I heard the earsplitting roar of a squadron of F-16's overhead, cruising in perfect formation as they defended our coast. But in this instance they were powerless to defend against the enemy unless sidewinder missiles fired into the tidal wave could have any effect.

Japan is a major economic force, an ally to the west and a successful representative democracy. The damage caused to this country will have widespread effects on the rest of the world. Japan will need all of their capital to rebuild and repair their country which will mean they probably will not be buying any other countries debt for awhile. They might even want to be paid back on all of the loan money they have out. If that happens, cheap interest rates will be a thing of the past and running your economy on someone else s money is going to become very expensive.

Time to balance our budget Washington, because our economic Tsunami is on the way.

Death threats to Wisconsin lawmakers will prevent them from attending St. Patricks ceremonies.

The stark reality of lawlessness comes home to the citizens of Wisconsin when their lawmakers are advised to skip St. Patricks Day ceremonies. Law enforcement doesn't think they can protect the lawmakers due to death threats received.

Madison Wisconsin has been assaulted by organized crowds of out of state protesters. They filled the streets and clogged the capital building. In a coordinated move with the unions, Wisconsin Democrat legislators flew the coop in order to paralyze the lawful legislative process and let the crowds work their chaotic mischief for over 3 weeks.

There have been threats of violence, intimidation, 7.5 million dollars of vandalism, economic threats and death threats to those who carried out the mandate of the voters.

The final insult to the capital however, was to have multi-millionaire capitalist, Michael Moore fly in to lecture the crowd on the holiness of collective bargaining. Ironically, Moore doesn't hire union workers on his own films..oh the hypocrisy!

Of course with the amount of press coverage in Madison, like a moth drawn to a flame Jesse Jackson showed up. As if someone pulled his string, he came out with a canned, off the wall speech, not relevant to the occasion. Seems he got his causes mixed up and although he had some rhymes, why did he have to talk about jobless and homeless, huh? This is exactly why the Wisconsin lawmakers got the legislation signed into law, to prevent job loss and homelessness.

The fabric of a country is its respect for its democratic process and respect for its laws. Mob rule, death threats and intimidation are not a part of that.

The time is long past due for President Obama to get off the golf course and get on Air Force 1 for the flight to Madison Wisconsin. He can dust off his Tucson "civility speech" with a few edits, load it into the teleprompter and tell the crowds it is time to be civil. Tell them in his Presidential way, to respect the legislative process, clean up the trash and repair the damage done to Madison. Tell them to go home and work on next years election.

This would be the most dramatic way for the President to take control of the situation and propel his image as commander in chief, the leader of our country. It is counter intuitive for his partisan beliefs, but it would gain him tremendous respect from the rest of the country to see their President be bold in such a volatile situation.

Do the unexpected Mr. president, surprise us. Time is slipping away.

James O'Keefe, new generation of Irish American patriot

Looks like we have a new generation of conservative Irish American patriots coming to the forefront. At 26 James O'Keefe already has an impressive record in exposing corruption, bias and illegality in government funded organizations. He is the modern day version of a conservative Woodward and Bernstein.

Due to an O'Keefe undercover sting operation, yesterday saw the firing of NPR'S CEO and the firing of the organizations chief fund raiser. The expose' shook the institution to its's core after a hidden video caught the fund raiser denigrating American citizens and also showed the willingness to accept donations from a known radical Islamic group.

But this is only the latest in his expose' of wrongdoing in the government funded organization industry.

Previously he exposed the group ACORN,the recipient of hundreds of millions of taxpayer funds and known for it's fraudulent voter registration tactics all over the country. O'Keefe and his partner posing as a pimp and a prostitute went into ACORN offices around the country secretly recording ACORN officials giving them advice on how to better traffic in child prostitution and human smuggling, among other offenses. After the video aired Congress voted to cut off funding to the group and it later dissolved.

Other targets have included the expose's of unethical/incompetence by Planned Parenthood, the Census Bureau, New Jersey Teachers Union and other projects.

O'Keefe describes himself as an "investigative journalist without formal training" and said he follows Saul Alinsky's rule of making "the enemy live up to its own book of rules." He used the Alinsky tactic of caricaturing the political and social values of his enemies by carrying them to outlandish extremes.

O'Keefe began making hidden camera videos, while attending Rutgers University, when he and his associates attempted to have the breakfast cereal Lucky Charms banned from the campus dining halls on the grounds it was offensive to Irish-Americans. The point was to expose the oversensitivity & absurdity to ethnicity at Rutgers. He told an assistant director at Rutgers dining services that the leprechaun on the cereal box appeared to be "'an Irish-American' who is 'portrayed as a little green-cladded gnome or huckster'". " As you can see, we’re not short and green–we have our differences of height–and we think this is stereotypical of all Irish-Americans". Though O'Keefe and his associates thought they would be laughed at, the Rutgers official took notes, and said their concerns would be considered.

In 2010 O'Keefe formed his own organization, Project Veritas, meaning truth. Their stated mission is "to expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions, in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society.

Looks like you've got your work cut out for you lad. Since there seems to be no more investigative journalism in the media these days, a vacuum was created. Young Mr. O'Keefe stepped up to the front and filled it. He is the epitome of the tough Irish spirit and tradition of fighting for what's right. Here's to ye Jimmy O'Keefe!.

Time for Big Bird to leave the nest and learn to fly on his own

Times have been tough lately as most of us know. Difficult to find work that pays enough to get by, rents are high wages are low. So it has brought on a new phenomenon to America: "The child that never moves away from home syndrome."

As so sensitively portrayed in the Matthew McConaughey movie, "Failure to Launch", Matthew plays a thirty something lad who still lives at home with his parents. So his parents hire Sarah Jessica Parker to lure him out of their house. She specializes in recalcitrant young men who never want to leave the nest.

We Americans have the same problem with the Big Bird and the rest of his rag tag publicly funded cartoon character gang who have been squatting in our living rooms for over 40 years. They have been raiding our fridges and not doing any chores around the house. Not only do they live rent free, they make us pay....The messages they have been sending to our pre-school children over the years primes them for their public school inculcation. I think if you take a look at what public education has brought to America over the past 40 years, you will able to see a correlation between data in and product out.

Of course I am referring to Public Broadcasting System/NPR/PBS/CPB, the whole family of public broadcasters held together by money forced from the US citizens. For many years this organization(s) has been a propaganda megaphone for all things left. If you relied on their news as the only source of your information you would have a definite skewed vision of how the world actually turns.

Big Bird & Co. earns millions of dollars...Hey Bird! How about kicking down some of that dough to the folks?.....Big Birds corporate structureof salaries(NPR, etc.) earn more than the President of the USA.

NPR will tell you it receives very little public money to operate, but that is not true. They receive a bulk of their money from it's network of stations, which do receive public funding. It's a shell game of subterfuge designed to muddy and confuse the debate.

With the unjust firing of Juan Williams several months ago and the just revealed taped conversations revealing the contempt that the CEO of NPR has for the ones who actually pay his salary, the US citizens, I think it is long overdue to let Big Bird learn how to fly on his own. We need to cut off all the hundreds of millions of subsidies. Let them compete in the free market of ideas and succeed or fail by what they produce....It's not like we don't have to sit through insufferable amounts of commercials because they're publicly funded. We have to see who their corporate sponsors are and interminable pledge breaks...so wtf (Winning! the future)

So it's time for the children to leave the nest, cut the umbilical cord and learn to survive on their own. I know it will make many cry and say how heartless we are to throw Big Bird and Co. out, but sometimes tough love is the best thing for kids. They can face the same daunting challenges that the rest of us adults have to face and succeed or fail in the effort.

And if they fail, they can pick themselves up, dust themselves off and try again.

The hypocrisy and political correctness on the left will be the death of us

In Germany when a gunman jumps on a bus crowded with unarmed American Airmen, empties his firearm into them, while shouting Allah Akbar...Would it be jumping to conclusions to assume it is an act of terrorism? Namely Islamic terrorism?

In Texas, Major Nadal Hassan calmly walked into an assembly area filled with his fellow servicemen and repeatedly emptied his weapon into his unarmed comrades killing and wounding dozens. While squeezing the trigger he could be heard to chant Allah Akbahr. Would it be jumping to conclusions to consider it had an Islamic terrorism tie in...Somewhere?

President Obama told us not to jump to conclusions about the terrorist attack in Texas. Over a year later the White House still has not been able to say this was an act of Islamic terrorism, even though there is overwhelming evidence that it was.

So in this context, the demeaning, pretzel-like show put on by U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley yesterday was illuminating. His attempt to justify how the German act of terrorism, really couldn't be construed as an act of terrorism.... turned out to be not only puzzling it was downright disturbing. Perhaps it was emblematic of the "Wildebeest Syndrome"? ( Dazed and confused, out maneuvered by its hunter)

Crowleys show put the politically correct mentality that permeates the White House and washes down to the Apparatchiks of his party into the spotlight. Just like when the Director of Homeland Security decided to refer to Islamic terrorism from now on as "man made disaster". It is nonsensical. A naive belief that if you don't mention the bogeyman's name, or change his name to something different, then it magically loses its power and really doesn't exist.

But you will notice there was no reticence by the Department of Homeland Security to recognize and boldly label the "real threats to America": Our returning veterans and right wing groups (Tea Party). Huh?

When Congresswoman Giffords was shot and others killed in Tucson recently by a crazed lone gunman, the din from the left & the main stream media caused spontaneous stigmata from the ears. They were falling all over themselves to blame it on Sarah Palin/ Tea Party,

Willful blindness? Partisan manipulation? The "wildebeest syndrome"? Take your pick or choose them all.

Editors Note: March 13, 2011, under pressure from the Obama administration ... P.J. Crowley resigned as spokesman for the State Department.

Bring Bush! Libyan freedom fighters cry for help.

Libyans under assault from Qaddafis air force, cry for the decisive leadership of George Bush. They plead for a Bush style imposition of a "no fly zone", to save their lives from vicious air attacks.

Estimates now say the death toll in the Libyans citizens quest to free themselves from their terrorist dictator to be 6,000 dead. The wounded count is much higher too, now that the dictator has unleashed his modern air force to bomb the population at will.

In the meantime while this slaughter is occurring, the Obama administration seems to be slow to act, almost like foot dragging or is it is gauging which way the wind is blowing? Or is it something else?

Unlike Egypt an ally of the US, where Obama called for the President of Egypt to step down almost immediately, Obama waited many days before even mentioning the dictator/terrorist Qaddafis name, even then in an oblique fashion.

Qaddafi is responsible for the murder of countless Americans in terrorist attacks throughout the world and should be tried in an international court for crimes against humanity. He has brutally suppressed his people for decades and bankrolled terrorist groups. So why the reticence from the President to even mention this thugs name?

Could it be that there is a connection between Obamas associates and Qaddafi that goes back years? Hugo Chavez, the dictator of Venezuela has stood solidly behind his friend the dictator of Libya and has offered an out for his friend Qaddafi. It has been noted that Obamas hope and change thing has resulted in a much less confrontational approach with the Chavez regime. To illustrate this, the US proactively sided against the will and constitution of the freedom loving people of Honduras. The US state Department ordered sanctions against Honduras after they ousted their wannabe dictator and close Chavez friend, after he attempted to establish himself as "el presidente for life".

There is also that solid relationship between Obamas pastor and mentor of many years, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Qaddafi. The Reverend Wright and the Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan made a sojourn from Chicago to Libya to forge a relationship with the Libyan dictator. They have been heard to sing the praises of Moammar Qaddafi in the intervening years, is there a special, sister city, Chicago-Tripoli relationship?

Perhaps it is time for decisive action and the possible appointment of special envoys to meet with the besieged dictator and an offer of sanctuary, in order to end the bloodshed in Libya. It wouldn't be unprecedented, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, also a product of Chicago, has been used as an unofficial ambassador over the years to attempt negotiations in terrorist situations in distant parts of the world.

Could it be time for boldness and decisiveness on the the Presidents part to use his secret diplomatic weapon and unleash his longtime pastor, Jeremiah Wright? Perhaps the Reverend Wright can reach out to his close friend Qaddafi to convince him to end the bloodshed?

Editors note 3/21/11 Seems Minister Louis Farakhan of the Nation of Islam has been reading this column. Yesterday he urged President Obama to send a delegation of highly respected Americans to Libya to talk to the ruler. Wonder who he thinks should be in the delegation?

Fox news challenges mob, proves their chants are empty.

It seems the spontaneous protesters that show up in state capitals, splintered off and metastasized in front of the Fox News studios in New York City.

These organized knots of people all seem to have in common, besides carrying signs of our elected leaders depicted as Nazis, is their hatred of Fox news.

Besides the usual stock chants at these gatherings, it seems the second most popular mantra in all of the locations across the USA is Fox lies! Loud enough to attempt to drown out the Fox reporters and they thrust their signs in front of television cameras. One Fox News reporter in Madison was jostled and hit by the unruly crowd in an attempt to intimidate and silence him.

Fox News decided to send out their intrepid reporter Jesse Watters & his camera man onto the street in front of their 'Fox news headquarters in downtown New York City. They thought it would be a good idea to give individual members of the chanting crowd a chance to air their grievances against Fox news.

Watters asked the crowd to be specific, exactly what has Fox lied about? One of the crowd said that Fox lies about everything. Watters asked him to name just one thing Fox lied about, be specific. The answers were generalities only, nothing specific, all they could chant was Fox lied.

During his interview with Bill O'Reilly, Watters said:

"It was like an angry hostile mob when I arrived out there. They were chanting slogans, trying to drown me out. Once I drilled down though they didn't really know what they were talking about. They were basically drones. They chanted that I was a fascist, a prostitute, a Nazi. The thing was organized by the SEIU, MoveOn.org. They get inbox e-mails and all of a sudden they flood the Fox News zone with these placards from God knows where. And it was really unclear what their agenda was. It was basically that Fox News was supporting Walker and his union-busting techniques."

So lesson for the day: At least know what you're chanting about, you never know when you may get a pop quiz.
